Pack Your Tunes in Sharper Image's SoundBag

When last we heard from the Sharper Image it was shedding stores after declaring bankruptcy, blowing out inventory, and getting ready to retool itself as a "brand" rather than a retailer, "exploiting" the familiarity of its name to market products via other partners. Now, we're starting to get a look at what the new Sharper Image brand might look like: the company has just announced the SoundBag, a new travel bag developed by The EnE Group combined with a flat-panel portable speaker system to be sold thrRead | Permalink | Linking Blogs

Mitsubishi LT-46149 46-inch LCD w/Sound Projector

We took a look at the Mitsubishi LT-46148 46-inch LCD back in August and felt that it was a good TV with some potential for improvement. Mitsubishi jumped back at us with the new LT-46149 and asked us to review it. While the features, video section and menus are nearly identical, the 149 series offers a brand new sound projector to deliver Dolby Digital 5.1 surround from just a bottom-mounted sound bar. We dialed in this television and it actually did a pretty bang-up job of sending surround sound to our ears - all from a single speaker.

Creative Chases Bovine Bliss with Zen Moo

Having looked to nature for inspiration with its well-received Zen Stone MP3 player, Creative has moved on to more questionable agricultural styling cues with its latest player, the Zen Moo. Introduced in China on Friday, the Moo features the likeness of – you guess it – a cow.Much like the Stone, the Moo comes in both Moo and Moo Plus variants, with the Plus picking up an OLED display, built-in speaker, FM receiver, and voice recorder. Both players come in white, pink, red and yellow, and sport capacities of 2GB.Read | Permalink | Linking Blogs

Elemental Designs A6-6T6

Elemental Designs A6-6T6 speakers only cost $500 a pair. This sounds like either crazy Internet pricing or white van material. At this price point, there is only so much you can do and eD has moved that bar quite high. The imaging of the A6's is really their strong point. I'm tempted to make grandiose claims about the imaging but I won't. If you're on a budget and or perhaps looking for your first pair of speakers, you could do a lot worse than the A6-6T6s.

iHome iHM77BC Portable Speakers

There really isn’t much portability when it comes to most portable speaker systems out there. A majority of them equate to shrunken down computer speakers loaded up with AA batteries, which you would be lucky to fit in a backpack, much less your pocket. iHome’s new iHM77BC capsule speakers manage to break that mold with a neat trick though – they collapse.Like an accordion, the dome-shaped speakers expand out to nearly double in size using a flexible center baffle. Just hook them up via a standard 3.5mm jack, pop them open, and you have an instant tabletop stereo for an MP3 player, notebook, or other audio source. ...Read | Permalink | Linking Blogs
