Pangea Audio Vulcan Turntable Wall-mount Shelf is Unshakably Rugged

The $149 Pangea Audio Vulcan Wall-mount Turntable Shelf is a super affordable way to better isolate your table and improve sound quality.

Pangea Audio Vulcan Turntable Wall-mount Shelf with Turntable

If you listen to vinyl, you are painfully aware of the consequences from improper turntable set-up. Turntable isolation is very important to achieving the best possible level of playback quality and that’s even more important to vinyl listeners using turntables that are not big on mass or that use spring suspensions.

My restored Thorens turntables from Vinyl Nirvana are quite susceptible to vibration and footfalls and I have both on very heavy isolation platforms. Both of those platforms from IsoAcoustics are very expensive and overkill for tables in the $300 – $800 range.

What can work really well with inexpensive tables are wall-mounted shelves that isolate the turntable from the rest of the room.

Pangea Audio Distributing, a developer and manufacturer of high-performance, high-value audio accessories, is now shipping its first turntable mount, designed for DIY and custom installation (CI) applications.

Pangea Audio Vulcan Turntable Wall-mount Shelf

The Pangea Vulcan Turntable Wall-mount Shelf (SRP: $149.95), eliminates performance-robbing vibrations, thanks in part to its one-piece steel U-frame, steel backplate, and a non-resonant MDF shelf insert with adjustable metal spikes for leveling.Unique to the Vulcan Turntable Wall-mount Shelf is the ability to easily mount it to studs spaced 16” on center, with convenient left/right adjustability after installation.

“The Vulcan series of turntable stands is a customer favorite, thanks to them being an even mix of looks, value, and rugged reliability,” says Steve Niemi, Director of Global Sales, Pangea Audio, LLC. “The wall-mount shelf extends the Vulcan concept to an application that is gaining momentum as the market for turntables and vinyl continues to grow.”

The shelf area measures 18″W x 15-1/2″D and is 19mm thick, with a weight capacity of up to 25 lbs. As sleek and aesthetically pleasing as it is reliable, the Vulcan Turntable Wall-mount Shelf design includes a 1″ gap between the shelf and backplate for cable management, for a clutter-free appearance.

The new shelf is designed for both end-users and custom installation specialists who prefer to mount the turntable to save space and complement a room’s décor. The frame mounts to wall studs, masonry, brick/concrete, thick wood paneling, and similarly sturdy wall surfaces. All mounting hardware is included, as is an easy-to-follow illustrated installation guide.

As a sign of the company’s commitment to eco-friendly packaging, the shelf is safely shipped in recyclable packaging with no Styrofoam or other potentially harmful materials.
