The award-winning team of acoustics experts at Grimani Systems have just introduced their newest subwoofer called the Psi v3. Although, it’s built on the foundation of the original Psi and Psi v2, the Psi v3 implements a new design with recessed drivers and smoothed edges. Continuing with the original 8-inch depth of its predecessors, Psi v3 can be concealed right behind the stretched fabric and acoustically transparent movie screens, without concerns of the driver excursion hitting any surfaces.

Designed for home cinemas and media lounges, the Psi v3 combines technology and seamless integration to enhance any high-end AV system. The Psi v3 provides efficient low-frequency performance, delivering powerful high-fidelity bass with precision and dynamics. With a shallow form factor and weighing 86 lbs, each Psi v3 fits into most wall spaces.

The Psi V3’s Quad-Drive system claims to push out up to 115 dB in-room sound pressure level (SPL), providing immersive low-frequency impact with extraordinary finesse. Featuring dual 13.5″ drivers in each unit powered by an included 4800-watt external DSP amplifier, a Psi v3 Quad-Drive system is designed to deliver every beat, and rumble, with force and clarity.

Pro Tip: Grimani’s Quad-drive mode is the utilization of four subwoofer units placed in the four corners of a room. This supports optimized and even bass distribution for every seat in a home theater..

You can also add the IS21 21-inch subwoofer to the mix for even more low-frequency extension and output.

The Bottom Line

The Grimani System Psi v3 subwoofer system is designed for private screening rooms and cost-no-object home theaters, but are essentially a conversation starter to determine what works best within a particular sized room and budget.

Although Grimani Systems may be the industry’s best-kept secret, they are a recognized leader in engineering, designing, and manufacturing speaker systems that deliver reference-level (and beyond) performance.

Previously we reported on their IS-21 Subwoofer, and Cinema V Speaker System (which includes their compact Epsilon Subwoofer). We had a chance to hear the Cinema V at CEDIA 2024 and were incredibly impressed.

Price & Availability

Pricing is $10,900 per subwoofer when purchasing four units (Quad Drive). This means that it will cost you $43,600 for four Psi V3 subwoofers with DSP amplification.

Pro Tip: If you buy just one Psi V3 the price is $12,000. If you buy two they are $11,100 each.

And you can’t even drive them. Well, I mean, they do come with amplifiers so they are effectively “self-driving” but not in that way.
