Danish speaker maker DALI is expanding its outdoor speaker line with the introduction of the GARDIAN OW 6. These all-weather, high-performance outdoor loudspeakers are debuting at the CEDIA Expo, September 5 – 7, alongside the previously announced PHANTOM E-WR series.

GARDIAN OW 6 Outdoor Speakers

DALI hasn’t provided detailed specifications for GARDIAN OW 6 outdoor speakers but has provided a preview of what to expect.

DALI Gardian OW 6 Outdoor Speakers

Similar to all DALI speakers, the GARDIAN incorporates DALI’s low loss design, has stable impedance, and wide dispersion so it excels in nearly any location and with any audio system.

Very robust, the GARDIAN OW 6 brings DALI-level sound to decks, pools, and other outdoor zones with impenetrable protection from water and dust for years of listening.

GARDIAN OW 6 features rugged construction, which consists of a stylish all-weather IP67-rated cabinet, tool less auto-connect, click-fit pan and tilt mounting hardware for efficient, trouble-free installation.

From Jason Zidle, DALI Brand Manager at Lenbrook Americas: “DALI speakers are renowned for creating an ultra-wide, detailed soundstage while conveying the minutiae of well-recorded music…with GARDIAN OW 6, we’re bringing our trademark DALI sonic signature and bulletproof reliability to any outdoor environment so our followers can enjoy the same DALI attributes outdoors as they do indoors.”

The GARDIAN OW 6 is IP67 rated which provides effective protection against dust and water to enable installation even in exposed locations throughout all seasons and weather conditions.

Outdoor installations can provide unique challenges that can sometimes make installation more difficult. The DALI GARDIAN OW 6 includes the simple Click ‘n Connect mounting bracket solution that simplifies and speeds up installation even in the trickiest locations and conditions.

The GARDIAN OW 6 can operate in temperatures ranging from -20°C/-4°F to +70°C/158°F providing flexible placement in the outdoor environment and can be installed in portrait or landscape orientation.

Mounting brackets incorporate bare-wire spring terminal posts protected by a removable cover, and once secured in position, the loudspeaker automatically connects electrically.

The GARDIAN OW 6 includes a DALI-designed waterproof, 5 ¼ “bass/midrange driver with a 1” soft dome tweeter that is concentrically mounted for symmetrical wide dispersion.

Twin internal auxiliary bass radiator units extend bass response without the need for ports that can allow water or debris ingress. Rounding out the package is a washable, rigid cabinet that is available in either black or white.

The GARDIAN OW 6 outdoor speakers are priced at $1,200 CAD per pair (US pricing forthcoming) and will be available globally in January 2025.

PHANTOM E-60WR and E-80WR Outdoor In-ceiling Speakers

In addition to previewing the GARDIAN OW 6 outdoor speakers, Dali is also exhibiting their PHANTOM E-60WR and E-80WR outdoor in-ceiling speakers at the CEDIA Expo.

DALI E-60WR and E80WR In-ceiling Speakers

Originally introduced in April 2024 but previewed at ISE in January 2024, these high-performance in-ceiling speakers feature IP65 weather protection. The PHANTOM E-WR speakers have a wide dispersion bass/mid driver and 25mm dome tweeter and fill any outdoor space with great sound, from an outdoor home theater to the patio, and another environment.

The E-WR bass/midrange and tweeter drivers feature powerful magnets and lightweight diaphragms, to offer high sensitivity requiring less amplifier power to achieve the necessary volume levels. The benefits are efficient heat dissipation and greater amplifier reliability.

Designed for easy installation with no special tools, PHANTOM E-WR in-ceiling speakers include angled drivers that allow focus to the listening area, ideal for the latest home theater effects and to maximize SPL, and both midrange and high-frequency level adjustment for on-site tuning during installation.

The PHANTOM E-60WR and E-80WR outdoor In-ceiling speakers have an MSRP of $450 USD and $550 USD respectively and are available at authorized dealers
