Blok Introduces Stax 2G Modular Equipment Racks

Blok delivers modern and stylish ways to showcase audio and home theater gear with new Stax 2G Shelf Collection.

Blok Stax 2g Modular Equipment Racks

We love our audio and home theater gear and although that gear might deliver the audio and video experience you like, all that equipment might also result in a lot of room clutter.

As a result, there is a need for stands, racks, and cabinets to store and display all that gear.

With that in mind, high-fidelity furniture maker Blok has announced a reimagined collection of Stax 2G modular equipment racks

Tip: Blok was acquired by Monitor Audio Group in 2019. The Stax 2G is the first new A/V furniture line under Monitor’s ownership and replaces all previous product lines.

Blok Stax 2G

The Stax 2G is designed to provide a stylish way to display and organize A/V components from three distinct contemporary finishes that allow easy integration into any interior space.

Shelves and supports are engineered to deliver optimal isolation along with simple assembly, hidden secure fixings and adjustable feet. In addition, its internal structure is fillable with inert acoustic material for even greater damping.

Acoustic Supports

Stax 2G features concealed rubber bungs within the supports that carry the weight of the shelves and the equipment that sits on them. These small, flush-fitting bungs can be removed which allows the supports to be mass-loaded with inert acoustic material. This feature allows the supports to become heavier, for greater structural rigidity of the entire unit, while also reducing vibration and resonances that might occur within your audio or home theater system.

Isolation Pads

Silicon isolation pads are integrated between each shelf and into the base of the support structure. These carefully selected pads ensure that shelf absorption works at its optimum, reducing resonances and vibration being carried through the shelves so that all you’ll hear is the high-fidelity sound of your system components.

Adjustable Feet

Stax 2G utilizes a bespoke foot design that facilitates quick and easy height adjustment. It also allows users to select spikes or rubber feet, depending on the surface upon which it is placed. The intuitive foot design ensures that Stax 2G can be leveled exactly, delivering a perfectly flat base for the high-fidelity equipment placed on it.

Design

The Stax 2G products were designed and engineered at Blok’s facilities in Rayleigh, Essex, UK.

Stax 2G’s unique visual identity is enhanced with finishes: black glass with high-gloss black supports, natural ash plywood with satin white supports, and subtle black ash plywood with natural walnut supports.  These finishes are designed to ensure the Stax 2G provides flexibility when matching not only what gets positioned on the unit, but also the environment it sits within.

Stax 2G is available with a choice of two types of shelves. A sleek tempered glass shelf finished in black or a modern plywood shelf, which is available in either a natural ash or black ash veneer. Each of the shelves has been chosen for their load strength and inherently positive acoustic properties, along with their physical design aesthetics – so that whatever electronics or source equipment is placed on them, they’ll remain completely rigid.

Transparent Design Philosophy

The Stax 2G is built on Monitor Audio Group’s R&D philosophy of maintaining a balance between design and technology.

One is never allowed to overpower the other and both play a vital role in delivering on our promise of musical neutrality and acoustic transparency. The physical designs need to sit comfortably within their environment. They are a beautiful statement, but one where perfectly balanced design neutrality means they will blend in for a lifetime of use.

This is referred to as Blok’s Transparent Design Philosophy, and every Monitor Audio Group product is the result of collaboration, drawing on experience within the design team and ensuring that all the elements of performance, technology, and design work in harmony. Stax 2G is one example of this approach.
