Toshiba REGZA ArtVision G700S Takes on Samsung The Frame in the Growing Art TV Market

Toshiba’s premium priced 2026 Art TVs offer matte QLED display, 165Hz refresh rate, Fire TV, and subscription-free artwork in 55 to 75-inch sizes.

2026 Toshiba REGZA ArtVision GS700 Art TV Lifestyle

Art TVs have become one of the fastest-growing lifestyle categories in the television market, driven by consumers who want a large-screen display without having a giant black rectangle dominate the room when it is turned off. The idea is straightforward: combine a slim, wall-hugging television with a matte display, decorative frame and curated artwork so it can function more like framed art when you are not watching movies, shows, sports or playing games.

Samsung helped establish the category with The Frame, and LG and other manufacturers have since expanded their own art-focused TV offerings. Toshiba is now joining that group with the REGZA ArtVision G700S, a 4K QLED Fire TV designed around Japanese minimalism and intended to blend into a living space rather than call attention to itself.

The G700S features an ultra-slim profile as thin as 1.2 inches, a matte anti-glare screen, an included two-tone White Oak frame and an UltraSlim wall mount that allows the television to sit close to the wall. When it is not being used as a TV, its Ambient Mode can display more than 3,000 curated artworks, which Toshiba makes available without a subscription.

That last point could give Toshiba a useful advantage in an increasingly crowded category. Samsung offers access to thousands of works through its Art Store, but full access requires a paid subscription, while Toshiba is including its artwork library without an additional monthly fee.

“REGZA ArtVision G700S brings the beauty of museum-quality art into the home,” said Tatsuhiro Nishioka, Global Brand Director of Toshiba TV. “The REGZA Engine ZRi faithfully reproduces the reflected light and subtle details of each masterpiece, while the matte-finish display minimizes distracting reflections for a more authentic art experience. It is a unique fusion of cutting-edge technology and timeless art, delivering a truly premium art TV experience.”

REGZA ArtVision G700S: Key Features

Inspired by Japanese Minimalism: As touched on above, the G700S incorporates a minimalist design intended to blend into your living space rather than dominate it. The TV combines clean lines, an ultra-slim profile measuring as little as 1.2 inches thick, and a two-tone White Oak frame designed to look more like part of the room than a conventional television. An included UltraSlim wall mount allows the G700S to sit close to the wall without an awkward gap, creating a more convincing gallery-like appearance.

Art Content: The G700S includes Ambient Mode for displaying artwork when the television is not being used for movies, shows, sports, or gaming. Toshiba provides access to more than 3,000 curated works of art without requiring a subscription, turning the G700S into a digital gallery when the screen would otherwise be sitting dark.

Anti-Glare: The matte anti-glare display is designed to minimize reflections from windows, lamps, and other light sources that can detract from the viewing experience. The reduced glare also helps artwork look more like a printed or framed piece rather than an image being displayed on a television, particularly in brighter rooms.

Sound Clarity: REGZA Power Audio combines up-firing speakers for additional height with downward-firing speakers designed to keep dialogue clear and anchored to the screen. For those looking for a more substantial home theater experience, the G700S also provides a digital optical output and HDMI-eARC for connection to an external soundbar or audio system.

Visual Tuning: Every REGZA G700S is fine-tuned in Japan, according to Toshiba, with QLED color and a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. The higher refresh rate is particularly useful for sports, fast-moving action, and gaming, where smoother motion can make a noticeable difference.

Fire TV: The G700S has Fire TV OS built in, bringing live TV, streaming services, and a wide selection of apps together in one interface. Alexa+ adds natural-language voice control for finding something to watch, controlling the television, and managing compatible smart home devices. For external sources, the G700S also includes HDMI and USB connectivity for game consoles, disc players, streaming devices, and other components.

The Competition

REGZA ArtVision TVs actually cost more than the competition — at least at launch. The 75-inch G700S carries a $2,999 MSRP, which puts it above the 75-inch Samsung The Frame at $1,999 and even above the 75-inch Frame Pro at $2,799. Samsung’s more expensive model also steps up to Neo QLED while retaining the mature Art Mode ecosystem that has been refined for almost a decade.

TCL’s Designer Series applies even more pressure. Its 2026 75-inch A300L is now selling at $1,699, while the 75-inch A400U QD Mini-LED Art TV is selling for $1,399, which includes local dimming, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, Google TV, AI-generated artwork, and a 144Hz panel.

The 75-inch Hisense S7 CanvasTV has recently been selling for about $1,599 in the U.S., while offering its own matte QLED display, Art Mode, included frame, flush mounting, and a 144Hz panel. That creates an interesting question since Hisense owns 95% of Toshiba Visual Solutions.

The Bottom Line

Toshiba has arrived late to the Art TV party, but the category is still expanding and there is room for another credible competitor — especially one that can offer something beyond another matte-screen television with a frame around it.

The Toshiba REGZA ArtVision G700S does have a few things working in its favor. Its library of more than 3,000 downloadable artworks is available without a subscription, the White Oak frame and UltraSlim wall mount are included, and its stated 165Hz native refresh rate is higher than the 144Hz panels used by several of its primary competitors. Fire TV and Alexa+ integration will also make it familiar territory for households already invested in Amazon’s ecosystem.

What it does not have is an obvious price advantage.

That leaves Toshiba in a somewhat unusual position. The subscription-free art library, included White Oak frame, 165Hz panel, and Fire TV platform make the G700S more than another Samsung clone, but $3,000 for the 75-inch model is ambitious when Samsung, TCL, and Hisense all offer strong Art TV alternatives for considerably less.

The G700S therefore makes the most sense for buyers attracted specifically to Toshiba’s design, Fire TV integration, and subscription-free artwork rather than shoppers looking for the least expensive route into the Art TV category. Hisense is clearly working to put the Toshiba television brand back on the map; whether the ArtVision G700S helps accomplish that may ultimately depend on how quickly its street price moves below that $2,999.99 MSRP.
