Eversolo’s New Flagship DMP-A10 Is Much More Than a Music Streamer

At $3,680, the Eversolo DMP-A10 music streamer packs in so much it just may be the Swiss Army Knife of network streamers.

Eversolo DMP-A10 Music Streamer Front Angle

Eversolo, makers of digital audio playback devices, introduced its new flagship Music Streamer, the DMP-A10 at the Paris Audio Video Show on October 25, 2024. This high-end network streamer has upgraded DAC and Preamp sections and can function as a music server with slots for optional SSD storage. In addition, the DMP-A10 incorporates visually pleasing design with a 6.5’’ high-definition touchscreen that can also display album art and system status, along with a unique 1.28’’ circular display on the volume knob.

From Eversolo’s CMO: Our R&D team is dynamic and experienced, developing all hardware and software in-house to ensure superior sound quality and user experience.”

On The Inside

On the inside, the DMP-A10 incorporates an ESS9039 Pro flagship DAC and dual linear power supplies that reduce noise and distortion, supporting a better listening experience.

Eversolo DMP-A10 Music Streamer Inside

A dual OCXO clock system keeps A10’s audio oscillators (operating at 45.1584MHz and 49.152MHz) at a consistent temperature, which eliminates temperature-affected frequency fluctuations. This results in low-phase noise and jitter levels below 50 fs.

A high-speed electrical isolation system separates noise and interference between circuit boards. This minimizes audio circuit disruption during signal transmission of the system circuit.

Streaming

The DMP-A10 provides access to native music services via API, including TIDAL, Qobuz, Amazon Music, TuneIn, Radio Paradise, and more, and supports cross-platform song search. It also functions as a home streaming hub, supporting TIDAL Connect, Squeeze Connect, DLNA, and UpnP protocols.  The DMP-A10 is also Roon Ready.

Physical Connectivity

Eversolo DMP-A10 Music Streamer Rear Angle

The DMP-A10 provides abundant physical connections two coaxial, two optical, HDMI ARC, and an isolated USB B input for connecting PCs and mobile devices. Plus, it is also a digital transport via isolated USB ports, and optical, or coaxial outputs.

The isolated USB audio input/output port is designed to eliminate interference from high-noise power sources and address grounding loop issues. This means that USB signals maintain quality with minimal noise and distortion.

High-performance fully balanced analog circuitry supports XLR/RCA analog inputs and outputs, allowing direct connection to powered speakers or amplifiers. With +10dB analog gain and R2R analog volume control, it delivers ultra-low noise and distortion, significantly enhancing dynamic range and overall sound integrity.

Digital to Digital Converter (DDC)

In addition to a built-in DAC, the DMP-A10 provides additional support from its Digital-to-Digital Converter (DDC). Digital signals can be output as SPDIF or analog after EQ adjustments, while analog inputs can be captured via high-spec ADC (up to 192kHz) and processed for output as either SPDIF or analog.

Subwoofer Connections

Users can also connect the DMP-A10 to one or two subwoofers or disable the subwoofer output feature if so desired.  The DMP-A10 can switch between MIXER and STEREO modes, as well as adjust subwoofer gain, crossover frequency, and delay.

Pro Tip: The subwoofer function is only effective for PCM signals below 192kHz.

Other Supporting Features

The touchscreen user interface is intuitive, while the dedicated control app provides additional wireless control as does the provided remote control.

To aid in setup, the DMP-A10 provides Digital Room Correction technology that adjusts frequency response based on room characteristics, eliminating unnecessary acoustics issues, and providing more accurate sound reproduction.

Pro Tip: To use digital room correction, you need to connect the DMP-A10 to a set of powered speakers or an audio system with speakers.

The DMP-A10 provides flexible music management capabilities. It supports playback and importing of music files stored on NAS devices or network drives within the local area network.

The DMP-A10 also includes dual SSD slots that support up to 2 x 4TB of storage.

Pro Tip: With the added capability to connect an external USB CD-ROM drive, the DMP-A10 can play and rip CDs, allowing users to consolidate their music collection for a gapless listening experience.

The Bottom Line

With the Eversolo DMP-A10, things are getting more crowded in the premium Music Streamer product category. At $3,680 Eversolo’s new flagship streamer has a lot to prove since it’s nearly double the price of the company’s previous top streamer, the DMP-A8 ($1980 at Amazon).

In addition to incorporating streaming and extensive physical connectivity, the DMP-A10 also offers room correction, both a 6.5-inch touch screen (including a choice of four VU meter designs) and a display screen on its volume control. In addition, the DMP-A10 has lots of storage capacity and the availability to play and rip CDs when connected to a CD-ROM drive. However, one thing it’s lacking is a built-in headphone amplifier to easily listen with connected headphones.

That being said when you add everything up the DMP-A10 might just be the Swiss Army Knife of streamers. At $3,680 you have to dig deeper into your wallet to afford one, but not as deep as you would if you were purchasing the $12,000 Marantz Link 10n. But then again, you can save a lot of money if you opt for WiiM Ultra for $329 which offers more than you would think with such a low price tag.
