Arendal Sound Limited 10th Anniversary Edition 1528 Tower 8 Loudspeaker

Arendal Sound is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a statement piece — the Limited Edition 1528 Tower 8 loudspeaker. Limited to just 25 pairs worldwide, this flagship model embodies the company’s Norwegian design heritage, precision engineering, and commitment to sonic excellence. The Tower 8 represents the pinnacle of Arendal’s 1528 series, created for listeners who value both performance and craftsmanship.

This speaker is a thank you. We’ve spent 10 years building something we believe in, and this is our way of celebrating that with the people who’ve made it possible,” said Jan Ove Lassesen, Founder & CEO of Arendal Sound.

Key Features

In addition to its classic rosewood cabinet, the 10th Anniversary 1528 Tower 8 features 12 layers of piano lacquer, each meticulously applied and polished to achieve a deep, soft sheen. The design is elevated with a satin-black front baffle, matching waveguide assembly, woofer trim rings, and base bars. The speakers also include upgraded Puck Pro isolation feet, replacing the standard model’s Puck Plus.

Each of the 50 speakers—25 limited-edition pairs—are individually numbered and fitted with a chrome-plated stainless steel rear plaque featuring a laser-etched serial number and the signature of Jan Ove Lassesen, CEO of Arendal Sound. Every pair also includes a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Thomas Gunvaldsen, Chief Technical Officer.

Adding to their exclusivity, the natural grain of the rosewood veneer ensures that no two speakers are visually identical, making each pair a true one-of-a-kind creation.

Every choice in this edition reflects what we stand for: precision, pride, and joy in the sound itself,” said Thomas Gunvaldsen, Chief Technical Officer of Arendal Sound.

The Standard Arendal Sound 1528 Tower 8 Speaker

While the exterior of the Limited Edition 1528 Tower 8 is unique, the internal components remain identical to Arendal Sound’s standard flagship model.

The speaker features a 3-way design built around a 28mm lithium-magnesium tweeter, 5-inch carbon-graphene midrange, and four 8-inch aluminum bass drivers, delivering clean highs, natural mids, and controlled low-end performance. A precision-engineered 85mm thick, time-aligned driver layout ensures consistent coherence and dynamic accuracy.

The curved baffle design aligns all drivers toward the listening position, simplifying crossover integration and maintaining phase integrity. This engineering approach minimizes distortion and preserves the clarity and balance of the original recording.

The Bottom Line

The 10th Anniversary Edition 1528 Tower 8 is a visually striking take on Arendal Sound’s flagship, featuring a rosewood cabinet, multiple layers of piano lacquer, and satin-black accents, limited to just 25 pairs. Priced at $12,900, it’s a collector’s item that emphasizes exclusivity and craftsmanship.

The internal components remain identical to the standard 1528 Tower 8, so performance is unchanged. Compared to offerings like KEF’s newly refreshed Blade series, which updates color without changing core performance, Arendal’s edition adds more aesthetic refinement—but at a premium, making it more about presentation than sonic improvement.

Very attractive loudspeakers. I’ve read a few recent reviews and they seem like genuine contenders in their respective price categories. The wood finish is stunning. Perhaps not Sonus faber level but definitely for the price.
