Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless Over-Ear Headphones Get The Royal Tease

With only two teaser photos revealed, Sennheiser is readying a competitor to Sony and Bose wireless over-ear headphones. Read our early thoughts.

The previous Sennheiser over-ear wireless, the Momentum 3 was acclaimed by many for its ease of fit, affordable price and correspondingly excellent sonic characteristics. I was lucky enough to try the Momentum 3 from a fellow reviewer’s collection and came away with those same feelings listed above. Relatively diminutive of size, but sonically large, the Momentum 3 impressed me with an overall excellent character for its affordable price.

Sennheiser has a rich tradition of quality offerings across the board. The Sennheiser Momentum 4 will make its global debut to the public in August 2022. With a completely redesigned shape, performance is said to be enhanced as well, continuing the excellent characteristics of the Momentum series, but wirelessly. With a reported 60 hour battery life, Sennheiser again sets the bar for longevity of performance.

Enhanced Active Noise Canceling (ANC) characteristics along with the new design are purported to give even better comfort levels than before. Aiding this is an audiophile-inspired 42mm transducer system, said to deliver “brilliant dynamics, clarity, and musicality for exceptional high-fidelity sound.” With angled speakers channeling the sound slightly in front of the user’s ears, the effect is to give a more natural soundstage according to Sennheiser. Advanced voice pick up provides for optimized calls and easier voice assistant access as well. Since most wireless headphones have very good to excellent voice call characteristics already, we look forward to these potential enhancements.

With an advanced customization, the Momentum 4 offers multiple options for the user to adapt the sound to their environment and unique preferences. Even though the unit will be light, the design is said to be optimized for acoustic performance, combining with the deep cushioned earpads. Those synthetic earpads aid in comfort when worn, as well as the performance of the Active Noise Canceling when used.

First off, I enjoyed meeting and speaking with you at T.H.E. and secondly, I very much look forward to your impressions on these new Sennheiser Momentum 4’phones as I bought the Momentum 3s but returned them (and the WH1000XM4s and Senn PCX-550IIs) due to poor BlooToof performance.

Other than that I thought them thar 3s were excellent with regard to fit and finish as well as comfort, reproduction of music and their ANC was more than adequate but of the models I tested I only kept the Bose QC45s and already have a pair of earlier Sonys and my Skull Candy SkullMusher ANC headphones along with an odd ChiFi pair that came in black with candy orange accents (such as color combination is a highly deadly attractant to such as I…So I bought ’em!) and it is my hope Harley never again uses that color-combo, else wise I shall succumb to my ego with ease and crumble under the debt.

Thank you for the heads up and again, I look forward to reading your thoughts, brother!

I am reeeeeeeeeally looking forward to these. It is not as if I do not like the Sony stuff, it is just that I think they are not exactly sliced bread. Bose? Yup. Better to me, at least. Enough so that I have bought four pair in the last year, one for me and three as gifts. One to my son and one each for my older brother and his wife. The Sony’s did not impress but the Sennheiser Momentum 3s did except as I said, they sucked staying on point with the BlooToof (like the Sonys did).

I have a BTB (BlooToofBooster) and it reaches into the back yard and the front yard and mailbox.

I do not go much further than that. You’ve seen me walk. I might fall and can’t giddyup.

What we need is Afaptive Nut Cancellation to rid us of Sellebrities and Sinfluencers. ‘n’ sheit.

Again, excited about these new Momentums! Thanks again and I will now cease and resist versus increase and persist. 😉
