Raidho Acoustics Unleashes Danish Thunder: Meet the TD-8 SUB and TD-10 SUB That Demand Respect (and Serious Power)

Raidho’s TD-8 and TD-10 subwoofers deliver cutting-edge bass tech and luxury craftsmanship for those that don’t want big black boxes.

Raidho Acoustics TD8 (left) and TD10 (right) - not to exact scale

Denmark may be a small Scandinavian country tucked just below Norway and Sweden (unless you’re a flat-earther), but when it comes to loudspeaker craftsmanship, the Danes take a backseat to absolutely no one—not the Brits, the French, the Germans, or the Americans.

Despite its size, Denmark boasts a deep and formidable lineup of speaker manufacturers—Gryphon, Audiovector, Buchardt, DALI, Bang & Olufsen, Dynaudio, and CANVAS HiFi—each carving out a reputation for combining killer performance with bold, unmistakable design. Just be ready to pay the price for that Danish pedigree.

Another proud member of this no-nonsense Danish club is Raidho Acoustics—makers of seriously high-end speakers that don’t mess around. For High End Munich 2025, they rolled in with not one, but two new subs ready to shake things up.

These aren’t your run-of-the-mill basement rattlers; Raidho’s subs are built to deliver bass with enough authority to back up their own lineup and embarrass other brands’ setups while doing it. Let’s just say, Raidho gear isn’t for the faint-hearted or anyone who likes their music timid.

TD-8 SUB and TD-10 SUB: Danish Thunder That Won’t Tiptoe Around Your Ears

The two new subwoofers from Raidho are the TD-8 SUB and TD-10 SUB. Let’s dig a little under the hood and find what they offer for music and home theater setups.

The TD-8 rocks a pair of 8-inch drivers backed up by two 10-inch passive radiators, while the TD-10 goes all out with 10-inch drivers and four 10-inch passives. Front-mounted drivers for serious slam, side-mounted passive radiators for style points—because why not look good while shaking your room?

Diamond-Coated Drivers — Because Regular Membranes Are For Amateurs

Raidho doesn’t mess around. Both subs sport their Ceramix membranes coated with a 10-micron artificial diamond layer. This isn’t just sparkle — it’s about cranking up stiffness and killing resonance dead, so you get bass that’s clean, tight, and free of distortion, even when you push them hard or cross over high. No sloppy bass here, just precision-engineered Danish muscle.

Underhung Voice-Coil Motor & No-Nonsense Cabinet Design

Raidho sticks to its underhung motor setup to keep bass linear and transients sharp — no gimmicky DSP tricks pushing drivers into freak-out mode here. Instead, they house these beasts in perfectly sized cabinets, letting the drivers move naturally. The result? Bass that’s tighter, cleaner, and more commanding than most wannabe subs out there.

Passive Radiators That Actually Do Their Job

Forget port noise and that annoying chuffing you get from typical bass reflex designs. Raidho’s precision-tuned passive radiators work alongside the drivers to stretch low-frequency response without adding turbulence. This dynamic duo keeps efficiency high, group delay smooth, and bass extension deep — all while holding on to that signature speed and control Raidho’s known for. No fluff, just raw Danish engineering muscle.

Hypex Ncore Class-D Amp Meets Real-Time DSP

Raidho breaks new ground by embedding a PC-controlled DSP engine right inside the 500W Hypex Ncore Class-D amplifier—without adding noticeable latency. The delay clocks in at a whisper-quiet 3–4 milliseconds, on par with pure analog setups. This means the subwoofer can fine-tune crossover points, EQ curves, and phase alignment on the fly with surgical precision, delivering bass that’s tight, accurate, and perfectly integrated.

Handcrafted Walnut Burl Cabinets: Tech Meets Art

The TD-8 SUB and TD-10 SUB don’t just sound high-tech—they look it. Each cabinet is crafted from rare walnut burl veneer, with those distinctive swirling “flower” patterns hand-matched and bonded to a multi-layer substrate for structural integrity. Raidho then puts each piece through eight rounds of sanding and sixteen layers of high-gloss lacquer to achieve a mirror-like finish. Every panel is tracked with a unique serial number to guarantee flawless left-right pairing and consistent quality—proof that tech and craftsmanship go hand in hand in Denmark.

From Kim Nielsen of Raidho Acoustics: “By marrying our diamond-coated, underhung drivers with low-latency DSP and purpose-built enclosures, we’ve created subwoofers that are both musically refined and brutally effective,…The TD8 SUB and TD10 SUB set a new standard for what bass should be: precise, tuneful, and utterly seamless with any system.

The Bottom Line

Raidho’s TD-8 SUB and TD-10 SUB push the envelope with cutting-edge driver technology, precision DSP integration, and handcrafted cabinets that scream high-end craftsmanship. The result is bass that’s tight, articulate, and finely tuned to play nice with even the most demanding setups.

But let’s be honest—while these Danish marvels are technological showstoppers, there are plenty of solid contenders from REL and SVS that deliver serious performance without requiring you to remortgage your house.

If you’re after top-tier sound and design and have the budget to match, Raidho’s subs are a statement. For those who want great bass without the Danish price tag, plenty of excellent, wallet-friendly options await.

What a joke, infinity money for pathetic performance…

Sure they sound great but 17K for a sub that only goes down to 25 cycles? My Emotiva does that and it cost me 100 dollars. Sounds excellent too.

      Jim,

The subwoofer category to me is the strangest one. There are SVS subs that obliterate the competition for under $2K and I’m talking reference quality sub-bass performance. I’ve had the opportunity to experience some of the most expensive subwoofer systems in $500K+ home theaters and they are doing something very different — and your Emotiva (and my SVS) can’t do that. You have to experience it firsthand. But $17K for a subwoofer is a lot of money.
