Meze Audio Empyrean Phoenix Headphones Fuse Technology and Art

The Meze Audio Empyrean Phoenix are a custom hand-painted version of their award-winning planar magnetic headphones. Not cheap but remarkably beautiful.

Meze Audio Empyrean Phoenix Headphones

One of our favourite headphone manufacturers have something quite unique in the pipeline. Meze Audio are based in Romania, and have been one of the true success stories of the high-end headphone revolution. Their affordable 99 Classics headphones are very popular with our staff who use them on a daily basis. Their flagship Empyrean model has won almost every major award from the audio/video press in the headphone category. It’s considered to be one of the best headphones ever made. Meze are now introducing the Empyrean Phoenix, a rare collector’s item that celebrates the rebirth of their flagship headphone through a fusion of art and high-end audio technology.

This fiery red and black version of the flagship Empyrean features a CNC sculpted aluminium chassis hand-finished with irregular patterns that create contrast and play of light and shadow, making each pair entirely unique. It comes with an upgraded copper cable of your choice, instead of the standard one on the original Empyrean.

Behind the artfully redesigned frame, Empyrean Phoenix hides the same breakthrough technology of its predecessor – the first Isodynamic Hybrid Array driver, created exclusively for Meze by the Ukrainian audio company Rinaro. The driver delivers a complex, balanced sound signature that allows users to immerse into a pure listening experience while enjoying the comfortable, ergonomic design typical to Meze products.

Empyrean Phoenix is an artistic take on Empyrean that carries the same unique audio qualities as the original. We wanted to celebrate the first decade of Meze Audio in a truly remarkable way, one that matches our love for great aesthetics, good craftsmanship and innovative engineering. What we achieved can only be described as a work of contemporary art.”
