Klipsch Launches ProMedia Lumina LED-Illuminated Speakers, Fusing Hi-Fi Heritage with Next-Gen Gaming Power

Klipsch revives its iconic ProMedia line with the Lumina 2.1 system, blending horn-loaded sound, RGB lighting, and modern connectivity for gamers and creators.

Klipsch ProMedia Lumina Desktop Speaker Lifestyle

Klipsch is tapping back into one of its biggest success stories just as desktop gaming and content creation continue to explode. The ProMedia line — first launched in 1999 and still one of the brand’s most iconic affordable speaker systems — returns with a modern twist designed for today’s hybrid workstations and gaming battlestations alike. As more users invest in better desktop setups for streaming, editing, and all-night gaming sessions, the new Klipsch ProMedia Lumina system aims to deliver serious sound, classic design, and RGB flair — all without blowing the budget.

Klipsch ProMedia Lumina

For 2025, Klipsch is breathing new life into its classic ProMedia line with the all-new Lumina — a desktop speaker system reimagined for the way people actually use their setups today. Whether you’re gaming, editing, streaming, or just zoning out to your favorite playlist, the ProMedia Lumina delivers a sharper, more dynamic sound backed by modern connectivity and intuitive controls.

The refreshed design includes tiltable stands, customizable RGB lighting modes, and a sleek carbon wood-grain vinyl finish that looks right at home on any desk — whether you’re grinding through a project or a late-night match.

Vincent Bonacorsi, Chief Operating Officer, Klipsch, explained: “We set out to honor the unmistakable power and precision that made the original ProMedia iconic, while evolving it for how people experience audio today — from gaming and creating to working and relaxing. With modern connectivity, intelligent controls, and our signature horn-loaded clarity, the ProMedia Lumina proves that true high-performance sound belongs everywhere — even on your desk.”

Klipsch ProMedia Lumina Satellite Speakers

At its core, the Klipsch ProMedia Lumina sticks to what made the original so effective — the company’s proven MicroTractrix horn technology — but now with a wider, more refined design. This updated approach boosts efficiency and reduces distortion, delivering more output and better clarity from every watt of power.

The result is a tighter, more immersive nearfield listening experience that suits today’s desktop environments perfectly, whether you’re gaming, mixing audio, or just streaming a late-night playlist.

Each satellite features a 1-inch Mylar tweeter mated to a MicroTractrix horn and a 3-inch midrange driver for rich, dynamic sound reproduction. Housed in durable sealed ABS enclosures, the satellites measure 9.75 x 6.5 x 4 inches (24.75 x 16.5 x 10.16 cm) and are engineered for both power and precision in small spaces.

The Subwoofer

One of the toughest challenges in any desktop audio setup is delivering real, impactful bass without eating up precious space — and that’s where the ProMedia Lumina flexes its engineering muscle. Drawing from Klipsch’s long-standing subwoofer expertise, the system’s 6.5-inch side-firing woofer is housed in a slim, upright MDF enclosure designed for tight spaces while maintaining high output and low distortion. The tube-ported cabinet extends low-end performance down to 150Hz, giving games, music, and movies a fuller, more cinematic weight.

A built-in low-noise amplifier eliminates the need for an external amp, while an adjustable gain knob and integrated cable-management alcove keep the setup clean and functional. Measuring 14 x 6 x 13 7/8 inches (35.56 x 15.25 x 35.42 cm), the ProMedia Lumina subwoofer proves that desktop bass doesn’t have to mean compromise.

The ProMedia Lumina keeps setup simple with Bluetooth 5.3USB-C, and a 3.5mm auxiliary input, offering straightforward wired and wireless connectivity for everyday use.

Apps and Control Features

The ProMedia Lumina 2.1 system includes tactile volume buttons for quick adjustments and offers deeper control through the Klipsch Connect Plus app (Android/iOS). For the first time, Windows PC users can also access full system settings via the new Klipsch Control App available at Klipsch.com.

Both apps allow users to fine-tune their sound with Music and Movie modes, a six-band EQ, and a Virtual Surround option that expands spatial depth for gaming and multimedia. A Night Mode feature also tempers bass and overall volume for late-night listening without losing clarity.

LED Light System – Each ProMedia Lumina satellite speaker features six integrated LEDs, offering five ambient light modes with soft, diffused illumination. Through the companion app, users can customize the lighting experience, including music-reactive effects that sync to the beat.

Additional lighting controls are available in the Klipsch Control App for PC, providing detailed adjustment of brightness, color, and behavior for the LED system.

Screen React – This feature samples colors from the four corners of the user’s display and projects them through the satellites’ LEDs, extending the on-screen visuals into the room for a more immersive experience — similar in concept to Philips Ambilight.

Dynamic Lighting – Available for Windows 11 and newer, this mode syncs the Lumina’s LEDs with other RGB-compatible peripherals, creating a unified lighting pattern across devices for a consistent and personalized desktop aesthetic.

The ProMedia Lumina also includes auto-on/off functionality, automatically powering up or down in sync with the connected PC — a small but practical touch that makes daily use effortless.

The Bottom Line

The Klipsch ProMedia Lumina shows that the brand’s future under Gentex isn’t just secure — it’s energized. Even as Klipsch continues to expand its partnerships, including ongoing collaboration with Onkyo on soundbars and home theater systems, it hasn’t forgotten the products that built its reputation. The new Lumina carries forward that legacy, taking the horn-loaded DNA that defines Klipsch’s Reference Series and reimagining it for the desktop.

With its compact 2.1 design, improved subwoofer performance, and smart app integration, the Lumina brings high-efficiency sound and real clarity to the modern workstation. Whether you’re a gamer, content creator, or remote professional, this system blends performance, practicality, and heritage — proving that Klipsch can innovate across every category, from Klipschorns to soundbars to desktop audio — and still sound unmistakably like Klipsch.
