Beats Pill portable Bluetooth Speaker in Black, Champagne and Red

The iconic Beats Pill portable Bluetooth speaker is back in time for summer. Some may recall the prior Pill+ released in 2015 was subsequently retired in 2022. But before that, the “Pill” line was already waning from the Pill XL recall of 2015. So after a long 9 year wait, we’re excited to share what Apple has packed into the all-new Beats Pill for 2024.

Tip: Apple acquired Beats in 2014.

What’s new?

Completely reengineered and redesigned, the new Beats Pill ($149) arrives in three sleek colors—Matte Black, Statement Red and Champagne Gold. The portable Bluetooth speaker boasts better sound than ever before, is lighter and more portable than its predecessor, and features an all-day battery life of up to 24 hours. Now with USB-C audio and charging, IP67 dust and water resistance and native iOS and Android compatibility.

“The Beats Pill is back and better than ever—now packed with outstanding sound, all-day battery life, and convenient features,” said Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music and Beats. “From the beloved Pill characters to cameos in the world’s most-watched music videos, the original Beats Pill was a pop culture phenom and we’re thrilled to bring back a fan favorite updated with the latest features in an iconic design.”

Seriously Loud

The Beats Pill is designed to sound incredible — both inside and outside of your home. The upgraded acoustic architecture delivers more powerful, room-filling sound, bigger bass and improved tonality across the audio spectrum.

The completely reengineered racetrack woofer with stronger neodymium magnets helps drive 28% more motor force and displaces 90% more air volume, while its innovative structure with radial ribbing helps minimize low-end distortion — even at high volumes. Secured in its own housing for extra stability to help reduce distortion, the redesigned tweeter delivers crisp highs and rich mid-range tones.

The streamlined Beats Pill features a 20-degree upward tilt for better on-axis sound projection, helping to minimize reflected sound.

Designed for ultimate portability, the Beats Pill is 10% lighter than its predecessor, with a removable carry lanyard and a soft-grip silicone backing. And with an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, the Beats Pill offers outstanding durability on the go.

The Beats Pill also doubles as a speakerphone for phone calls with remarkable speech capability. By leveraging Beats’ proprietary noise-learning algorithm, developed with the intelligence of machine learning to help suppress unwanted noise around the speaker, the Beats Pill can better target the user’s voice.
