Sonos Releases Arc, Premium Dolby Atmos Soundbar

$799 room-tuning sound bar brings the simplicity of the Sonos ecosystem into your home theater.

Sonos Arc Soundbar mounted on-wall

Smart Sound Bar

Sonos today released a new premium sound bar called Arc designed for TVs 49-inches and larger. Priced at $799, Sonos Arc replaces Playbar and Playbase from the Sonos lineup, ushering in a more immersive theater experience with support for Dolby Atmos. The company claims Arc produces dramatic clarity, detail, and depth across an ultra-wide soundstage with impressive bass. It’s powered by 11 speakers drivers, including two that are upward firing for 3D audio.

Sonor Arc can adjust sound based on what’s playing, whether stereo, or home theater. Listeners can refine Arc’s sound in the Sonos app with features including Speech Enhancement to further clarify vocals and Night Sound to temper loud explosions. In addition, Arc features Sonos’ Trueplay technology, which adjusts sound quality based on the acoustics of the room.

Sonos Arc Soundbar White

Arc, available in matte black and matte white, features a 270-degree rounded plastic grille and a calm, seamless exterior for multi-dimensional sound that elegantly fits within the home. Place Arc in front of a standing TV or mount to the wall with a separate custom designed wall mount. For simplicity only a single HDMI cable to Arc is ideal from TVs with eARC or ARC connections. For greatest compatibility, eARC is recommended, because it supports Dolby Atmos, TrueHD, MAT, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby Digital.

Sonos Arc is also a wireless speaker that works seamlessly for streaming music with the Sonos app and other Sonos Speakers as part of a multi-room audio system. Built-in microphones enable voice assistant support for Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for added convenience.

Sonos Arc Soundbar with Sub and One SL Speakers

Surround Sound

While Arc delivers powerful, cinematic sound on its own, adding a Sonos Sub (Gen 3) wireless subwoofer and a pair of One SL surround speakers offers an even more immersive experience. Both are available in matching black or white colors.

“Arc brings the sounds of our favorite shows and artists to life like never before. Our goal is to make any room you have a television a place you can easily enjoy all of the great streaming video and music that exists today. Arc illustrates our commitment to brilliant sound and premium design, and sets a new standard for soundbars.”
