Roku Introduces Streambar All-in-One Sound Bar and 4K Streamer

Simple and affordable solution for adding both a sound bar and media streamer for 4K HDR TVs with one cable setup.

2-in-1 Wireless Speaker

Roku just announced a simplified home entertainment solution that combines a TV sound bar and 4K media streamer called the Roku Streambar. Affordably priced at $129.99. Streambar works with any TV with a HDMI output, allowing for a one cable connection between TV and soundbar/streamer. For streaming shows, Streambar doesn’t skimp on video with support for 4K HDR picture quality on compatible 4K TVs.

Roku claims Streambar offers crisp, clean dialogue with sound that fills a room. As part of the Roku ecosystem it’s also compatible with Roku Wireless Subwoofer ($179) and Roku Wireless Speakers ($199) for surround sound. Setup is simple with everything in the box, including one voice remote that controls your TV, sound, and streaming.

Who is Streambar For?

Streambar is designed for people who don’t have a sound bar or Smart TV, or need to upgrade their current streaming to support 4K HDR. If you already own a Smart TV, then Streambar will duplicate many streaming options. The question becomes whether you like your TVs menus or Roku? For many the answer has been Roku. Streambar could also be helpful if you’re already a Roku customer and need a sound bar on a TV in a second room.

Voice Enabled

With built-in support for Amazon Alexa and/or Google Assistant devices, Streambar can be controlled with your voice. Siri, Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit capabilities are expected soon to accomplish similar voice interactions through iPhone or iPad.

  • Four internal speakers fill the room with rich Dolby Audio.
  • Advanced audio engineering produces sound well beyond its size while increasing speech clarity and adding intricate depth to music.
  • Simple volume modes make it easy to adjust sound. Automatically lower loud commercials, boost the volume of voices, and optimize the sound for night listening.
  • Add deep, rich bass with Roku Wireless Subwoofer and immersive surround sound with Roku Wireless Speakers.
  • Spotify is available on the Roku platform and with Spotify Connect, easily launch a favorite playlist from a smartphone and listen through the Roku Streambar’s high performance speakers.
  • Easily stream music from mobile devices with Bluetooth support.

Price & Availability

Roku Streambar will be available October 15, 2020 for $129.99 at Amazon and various retailers. It will also be sold in Canada, Mexico and the U.K.
