Exceptional Value, Style and Performance

Infinity’s Primus Series has established itself as the benchmark in affordable audiophile-quality loudspeakers. The new Primus models combine all the sonic strengths of their predecessors with refined, contemporary styling that imparts an elegant, understated appearance. Their rich black-ash-finish enclosures are accented by attractive light-silver grilles that have gracefully curved and tapered top surfaces. With the grilles off, the speakers present a striking, high-tech look, with metallic-silver MMD drivers mounted in matching bezels. The floorstanding P252 and P362 also feature contoured metallic-silver legs that complement the loudspeakers’ visual appeal.

All Primus Series loudspeakers incorporate Infinity’s proven MMD technology to provide superlative sound quality. MMD driver cones are manufactured by anodizing both sides of an aluminum core to a controlled thickness, producing low-mass, highly rigid driver diaphragms that operate with greatly reduced distortion, and deliver extraordinary transient response, resolution and smoothness throughout their entire frequency range. Each tweeter, midrange driver and woofer is optimized for its particular application, with internal resonances virtually eliminated within each driver’s frequency range to achieve maximum sonic clarity. The result is richly detailed, expansive and dynamic sound, with articulate bass, a musically accurate midrange, pure, extended high frequencies and exceptionally realistic vocal and instrumental reproduction.

In common with all Infinity loudspeakers, Primus Series models are designed utilizing the company’s room-friendly design principles, which ensure they will provide sonically accurate performance in the widest variety of listening environments and placement positions. All tweeters are mounted in a specially shaped, recessed waveguide that provides precise imaging, even frequency response and controlled directivity over a wide listening area, creating an immersive multichannel or stereo listening environment.

All models feature high sensitivity to deliver satisfying volume levels and wide dynamic range even when using lower-powered receivers. All are built to the high-quality standards of all Infinity products, featuring rigidly braced enclosures for minimizing unwanted internal resonances; crossover components selected for best sound quality; magnetic shielding and many additional refinements.

Primus Series loudspeakers are ideal for a wide variety of home entertainment requirements, from compact, high-quality home theater and music systems to larger home entertainment installations where expansive, authoritative, large-scale playback of movie soundtracks and music is desired. For added installation flexibility, the Primus P142 and P152 bookshelf monitors, as well as the PC250 center channel, include keyhole mounts to facilitate wall-mounting, and the Primus P142 also incorporates standard 1/4″-20 threaded inserts for use with third-party wall-mounting brackets.

The Infinity Primus Series loudspeakers will be available in fall 2006.

Infinity’s PS Series Subwoofers: The Ideal Match to the Primus Series

Infinity’s PS Series subwoofers have been restyled to complement the Primus Series. Three models — the PS-28 (8-inch woofer, 150 watts, SRP: $329), the PS-210 (10-inch woofer, 300 watts, SRP: $429) and the PS-212 (12-inch woofer, 400 watts, SRP: $549) — are making their debut at CEDIA 2006. All PS Series subwoofers utilize MMD woofers, higher-powered amplifiers and tuned enclosures to deliver articulate, extended low-frequency response; they also feature continuously variable crossover frequency and level controls; a phase switch; and LFE (low-frequency effects) and line-level and high-level inputs to optimize their performance in any system and room.

Infinity’s new PS Series subwoofers will be available in fall 2006
