TWAIN interface, robust software package, and one-touch scan-to-cloud increase efficiency for on-the-go business professionals

Epson announced the WorkForce DS-30 portable color document scanner designed for business, weighing less than 12 ounces. It is the only portable business document scanner with both one-touch scan-to-cloud capabilities and TWAIN interface, which allows for wide-range software compatibility. With its robust feature set, including brand new Document Capture Pro software, the scanner provides full-function flexibility for business professionals either in the office or on the road.

The WorkForce DS-30 includes a robust feature set including Epson's new Document Capture Pro software and a customizable one-touch button allowing users to scan directly to email, FTP, or a specific directory folder, as well as directly to popular cloud services such as SharePoint, Google Docs and Evernote. Users can also scan a variety of originals — from documents up to 8.5 inches by 14 inches to business cards and rigid ID cards — and take advantage of advanced correction tools, such as removing punch holes, auto-sizing and enhancing text quality or correcting image skew.

Epson WorkForce DS-30 Portable Color Scanner - Top

One of the most notable features on the WorkForce DS-30 is the inclusion of the TWAIN driver, the industry standard for scanning software, which allows customizable software for integration into third-party Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software in virtually any vertical market, such as real estate, healthcare and logistics. Often included only with high-end scanners, the TWAIN interface is standard on Epson's entire line of document scanners, and the WorkForce DS-30 is the only portable business document scanner on the market to include both TWAIN and one-touch scan-to-cloud capabilities.

Other advanced features of the WorkForce DS-30:

  • Extremely portable: Weighs 11.5 ounces and is small enough to slip into a computer bag
  • USB powered: Simply plug the WorkForce DS-30 into a laptop — no external power supply is required
  • High-quality scanning features: Simplex scanning creates editable text and searchable PDFs; great image quality at up to 600 dpi
  • Robust software package: In addition to Document Capture Pro, the WorkForce DS-30 also includes ABBYY FineReader, NewSoft BizCard and NewSoft PageManager for Mac

Pricing and Availability
The Epson WorkForce DS-30 portable color document scanner will be available in March 2012 for $179.
