Bluesound, the original hi-res multi-room audio pioneer, is stepping into an increasingly competitive high-end soundbar arena with its all-new PULSE CINEMA and PULSE CINEMA MINI. These redesigned streaming soundbars pack immersive Dolby Atmos performance, sleek low-profile design, and full BluOS multi-room integration, challenging strong contenders from KEF, Klipsch, JBL, Sony, Samsung—and yes, even the ever-popular-but-often-overhyped Sonos, which has a habit of promising more than it delivers.
Bluesound isn’t just joining the fray; it’s staking a claim for listeners who want top-tier sound without settling for “good enough” below $1,500.
The PULSE CINEMA’s 16-driver 3.2.2 layout with upfiring speakers fills large living rooms and 55-inch+ TVs with cinematic depth, while the PULSE CINEMA MINI brings the same acoustic engineering to bedrooms, dens, and condos, proving that high-end home theater sound doesn’t have to be bulky or complicated—even when a certain rival refuses to play nice.
“We wanted to build soundbars that didn’t just sound great—they needed to be beautifully simple to live with,” said Matt Simmonds, Product Manager at Bluesound. “Both soundbars offer high-performance audio in elegant, low-profile forms that can adapt to any space. You get immersive, cinematic sound without any of the typical AV clutter.”
Bluesound PULSE CINEMA & PULSE CINEMA MINI
Bluesound’s new soundbars fully embrace the company’s Simple A/V philosophy, which merges audiophile-grade performance with everyday usability in a sleek, no-fuss package. Whether wall-mounted in a living room or tucked under a bedroom TV, these soundbars ditch the need for bulky receivers, complex wiring, or multi-channel setups.
PULSE CINEMA: At 47-inches, this multi-room streaming powerhouse delivers 500 watts across a carefully engineered driver array, including a dedicated center channel, dual 4” woofers, and upfiring speakers. The result is a fully 3D soundstage that brings movies, games, sports, and music to life with impressive detail and realism.

PULSE CINEMA MINI: The 33-inch MINI proves that smaller rooms don’t mean sacrificing performance. With 280 watts of system power, angled drivers, and dual 4” woofers, it creates a surprisingly immersive experience, making it perfect for bedrooms, dens, or condos, all wrapped in a subtle, modern design.
Both models support HDMI eARC, optical, and analog inputs, and offer flexible placement thanks to automatic DSP-powered orientation detection—no manual tuning required when wall-mounted. On top of that, BluOS brings wireless surround sound, hi-res streaming, and integration with smart home systems like Control4 and Crestron, keeping setup simple while delivering serious performance.
“The real beauty of these soundbars is how they remove friction in both setup and everyday use,” said Morten Nielsen, Bluesound Associate Product Manager. “We focused on creating an elegant, low-profile design paired with our latest acoustic architecture, so users don’t have to compromise between aesthetics and performance.”
Multi-Room Streaming Made Easy with BluOS
Bluesound’s PULSE CINEMA and CINEMA MINI put BluOS, the award-winning multi-room streaming platform, front and center. BluOS gives you access to more than 20 streaming services—including TIDAL, Qobuz, Spotify, Amazon Music, Pandora, and Deezer—and handles high-resolution audio up to 24-bit/192kHz. Whether it’s your digital library, internet radio, or synced playback across multiple rooms, BluOS keeps everything seamless with other Bluesound or BluOS-enabled devices.
The BluOS Controller app, available on iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows, makes browsing, controlling, and enjoying your music effortless—anywhere in the house, without compromise.
Scalable, Wireless Surround Sound
The PULSE CINEMA and CINEMA MINI can be paired with other Bluesound speakers to create a multi-channel surround system with separate front and rear channels. When combined with the PULSE SUB+ subwoofer and a Bluesound stereo pair as rear speakers, the setup delivers wireless surround sound without a traditional AV receiver or complex wiring.
Unlike KEF’s new XIO, which cannot work out of the box with existing KEF wireless speakers for rear channels and requires future models to complete a wireless system, Bluesound’s soundbars are fully compatible with the current lineup from day one.
The new PULSE CINEMA and PULSE CINEMA MINI work within BluOS much like Bluesound’s current SOUNDBAR+, supporting wireless home theater setups and a full range of Dolby formats, including:
- Dolby Atmos
- Dolby Digital
- Dolby Digital Plus
- Dolby TrueHD
- Dolby MAT
For surround configurations, the soundbars can be paired with a range of existing Bluesound products as wireless rear channels, including:
- PULSE FLEX (all generations)
- PULSE M
- POWERNODE (any generation, when connected to passive speakers, in-wall, or in-ceiling)
- POWERNODE EDGE (same flexibility as POWERNODE)
An optional feature called Stereo Surround has also been carried over, which allows users to virtualize a standard stereo signal across a full home theater setup.
Each new soundbar includes a dedicated wireless module designed for BluOS Bonded Links, which establishes point-to-point wireless connections with surround speakers. This reduces latency and ensures tighter sync in home theater environments.

The Bottom Line
The Bluesound PULSE CINEMA and PULSE CINEMA MINI combine Dolby Atmos processing, multi-driver arrays, high-res audio and MQA support, and full BluOS multi-room streaming in two flexible form factors. Both soundbars can use existing Bluesound wireless speakers as rear channels, making it easy to expand into a wireless surround setup—something KEF’s XIO doesn’t support out of the box. Pricing is competitive with high-end models from KEF, Klipsch, Sony, and Samsung, though adding a PULSE SUB+ for extended bass will increase the total cost.
