ATON DH44 Digital Audio Router Wins Custom Retailer 2008 EXC!TE Award

LEXINGTON, KY — ATON, a premier manufacturer of home audio and video signal routing and distribution products for the custom installer market, announced today that Custom Retailer Magazine has honored ATON’s DH44 Digital Audio router with a prestigious 2008 EXC!TE Award. The DH44 is the first product to be released utilizing the highly anticipated new DIGI-5 technology and sets new standards for affordable, plug and play audio distribution with no signal loss. The announcement was made by Bob Williams, ATON’s General Manager.

ATON’s DH44 audio distribution solution is the nation’s first new DIGI-5 technology digital product. The DH44 exceeds the quality of existing analog over Cat 5 audio topologies by converting every signal to a digital one. As the first to harness the DIGI-5 infrastructure introduced at last year’s CEDIA Expo, the DH44 literally separates the amplifier’s function from the master hub and puts it in each of the system’s zones to create a higher quality sound experience that end users are thrilled with. Installers are excited by having a system that requires only a single run of Cat 5 cable for signals and power in each zone for fast, trouble free installations.

“We are very proud of our design team and the engineering results we have seen with the DH44, so Custom Retailer’s award doubles our excitement,” said Mr. Williams. “Working with DIGI-5 was empowering because of all the ingenious solutions embedded for increasing performance while limiting amplifier noise and signal degradation. We are honored and send our thanks to all the members of the editorial staff who recognized the very intense design and engineering work that went into our DH44 Digital Audio Router.”

According to Maureen Jenson, Editor-in-Chief of Custom Retailer, “This Year’s Excite Awards was a massive project with many great submissions. Not only are the ATON products based on a very impressive level of intelligent design, it is the first DIGI-5 product shipping following The Linear Home Technology Group’s announcement of the architecture at last year’s CEDIA. First products based on quantum leap technology are always a tough one for manufacturers, so we were all very impressed with ATON’s work. All of us at Custom Retailer can’t wait for our DH44 hand’s-on at CEDIA.”

ATON’s DIGI-5 products are now shipping including the award winning DH44 Digital Audio Router (MSRP $799), DH46X Expansion Router (MSRP $699), DHTP1 Digital Amplified Touchpad (MSRP $199), and the DHSIP Source Input Wallplate (MSRP $129). All ATON DIGI-5 routers and support products including the renowned Musician Tuned Storm Speaker Series will be available for hands-on use demos at CEDIA Expo 2008 September 4th through the 7th at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado.

Custom Retailer’s annual EXC!TE Awards pay tribute to products that best exemplify the excitement and growth of the home electronics industry. Recipients are selected through consultation among our editors, contributors, selected retailers and industry observers, as well as through reader nominations received via e-mail and fax. The EXC!TE Awards honor products that are exceptional in terms of innovation, value, market presence or market impact. EXC!TE winners have distinguished themselves as the leading lights of the business.
