LG Display, the sister company of LG Electronics that designs and manufactures the OLED TV panels used by LG, Sony, Panasonic, and others for their OLED TVs, also provides OLED screen solutions for commercial applications.
Following up on their flexible OLED Media Chair and Virtual Ride concepts announcement, LG Display is showing several new prototype transparent screen products at CES 2022 that we may see in the near future. Although transparent OLED is not new, these concepts expand its flexibility.
OLED Shelf
This solution combines two transparent OLED displays, one above the other. Together they seamlessly blend into any living room decoration while adding a touch of elegance as it is hanging off from the shelf on the wall. The OLED Shelf can be used for displaying TV shows or gallery paintings while running in its Always On Display Mode.
Shopping Managing Showcase
This solution is a transparent OLED display fitted inside a wooden display stand, which is designed to enhance the offline shopping experience in department stores. The Shopping Managing Showcase can display eye-catching visual content on the screen that harmonizes with the products on display behind the screen to better grab the attention of shoppers and elevate retail store ambiance.
Show Window
This solution is designed to enhance the offline shopping experience.
This solution consists of four 55-inch transparent OLED displays that combine into a larger display for a big impact retail display. The Show Window maximizes the advertising potential of window displays by delivering a more unique and informative shopping experience.
Smart Window
The Smart Window is designed for office applications.
By applying transparent OLED technology to conference room windows, the Smart Window can maximize productivity by transforming a room into an expansive screen for video conferencing, presentations, and entertainment without compromising the open view of a normal glass window. This concept also saves space by eliminating the need for large TVs or monitors, opening up the workplace.
