Nikon COOLPIX P520 Digital Camera

Nikon COOLPIX P520

Nikon just announced the 18-megapixel COOLPIX P520 ultra high-power zoom digital camera, successor to the COOLPIX P510. Both cameras are equipped with a 42x optical zoom NIKKOR lens that covers the wide-angle 24mm to super-telephoto 1000mm (35mm equivalent) range of focal lengths. An ACTIVE mode has been added to the lens-shift vibration reduction (VR) function for more effective reduction of blur caused by camera shake with hand-held shooting of still images from a moving vehicle or movie recording while walking. In addition a GPS function supports point of interest (POI) display.

The P520 features a larger 18.1-megapixel backside-illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor and high ISO sensitivity to ensure quality images even in low-light conditions. Additionally, the COOLPIX P520 allows users to not only shoot images from a distance, but also at unique angles thanks to a versatile 3.2-inch Vari-Angle LCD monitor, which is larger than that built into the P510. Additionally, Full HD (1080p) video recording with stereo sound is possible with the simple touch of the dedicated movie record button.

To share images and videos instantly with family and friends, the P520 is compatible with the WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter. This optional accessory paired along with the downloadable Wireless Mobile Adapter Utility application allows users to transfer their images and videos to compatible smart devices and tablets for easy sharing and viewing with others.

Price and Availability
The Nikon COOLPIX P520 will be available for $449.95 in Black, Red, and Dark Grey in February 2013.
