XGIMI first previewed the MoGo 2 Pro just before CES 2023, and we’ve been waiting for this very compact projector to finally arrive because it is almost time to take the movies back into the backyard.
Built on the foundation of its MoGo 2, the Pro includes most of the same features but adds some refinements that elevate its performance and practicality with simple setup and operation.
Features
Product Design: The MoGo 2 Pro features a sleek and minimalist design with a weight of 2.4 pounds, and a height of 6.33 inches. This makes it easy to place and set up with limited room space.
Display Technology: The MoGo 2 Pro has a native 1080p display resolution (supported by a .23-inch DLP imaging chip) and a light output rating of 400 ISO lumens (via 25,000 use hour rated LED light source). HDR 10 support and both 2D and 3D viewing options are included (glasses require optional purchase).
Tip: 400 lumens isn’t typically enough light to support a high-contrast projected image, and the inclusion of HDR support is interesting considering the projector’s modest lumens output. Check out XGIMI’s luminance testing procedure.
Portability: The MoGo 2 Pro can be moved and placed in any room of the house, or even travel with you. Even traditional projectors have to be painfully set up again and again, at each new location – this is time-consuming and inconvenient. However, XGIMI has thought of that too, and has come up with a creative solution.
- Product Size (HWD): 161 × 119 × 108mm (6.33 × 4.68 × 4.25 Inch) 8
- Product Weight: 1.1kg (2.42lb)
ISA (Intelligent Screen Adaptation): Building on their current ISA (Intelligent Screen Adaption) technology, which includes Autofocus, Automatic Vertical Keystone Correction, Obstacle Avoidance, and Intelligent Screen Alignment. XGIMI has also added three enhancements for the 2.0 version: Seamless Auto Keystone Correction, Seamless Auto Focus, and Intelligent Eye Protection.
Tip: Most ISA functions take place without interrupting projection which is great as it doesn’t impair the viewing experience while being noticeably faster and more accurate. Intelligent focusing and stabilization occur automatically and are unnoticed by the user, as there is no physical set-up or waiting time compared to ISA 1.0.
Screen Size: The MoGo 2 Pro can project an image as large as 200 inches. The complete size range is 40 to 200 inches.
Smart Features: The MoGo 2 Pro incorporates the Android TV OS (ver 11) and Chromecast Built-in which provides access to abundant streaming content.
Wired Connections: 1 HDMI, 1 USB Type A, 1 USB C, Auxillary Audio output
Wireless Connections: WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0 (allows direct streaming from compatible smartphones and tablets). This allows you to use the MoGo 2 as a Bluetooth speaker.
Built-in Speaker System: 2×8 watts per channel. Dolby Audio, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus decoding (mixdown to 2 channels for audio playback)
Control: Bluetooth Remote with built-in Google Assistant Support via built-in mic.
Portable Power: The MoGo 2 Pro can be powered by a direct connection to AC power or a plug-in power bank.
