VIZIO P-Series Ultra HD LED Smart TV (2014 Models)

VIZIO P-Series Ultra HD LED Smart TV

For 2014, VIZIO today announced an all-new P-Series 4K Ultra HD Full-Array LED Smart TV collection, which features 50″, 55″, 60″, 65″ and 70″ screen sizes. The new TVs provide advanced local dimming technology, feature a backlight that consists of 64 Active LED Zones, HEVC Codec for Ultra HD streaming and VIZIO’s V6 six-core processor that combines a quad-core GPU and dual-core CPU for unparalleled performance and maximum speed.

Engineered with advanced technologies, P-Series offers the incredibly rich, best-in-class picture quality VIZIO is known for, but on an Ultra HD scale. P-series offers Full-Array LED backlighting and advanced local dimming technology with 64 Active LED Zones, representing a significant step forward in picture quality. These enhancements offer better light uniformity for a more vibrant, beautiful picture, generating even deeper black levels and higher contrast created by the dynamic adjustment of the LED backlight in each Active LED Zone, based on the content displayed on screen. More zones allow for discrete control of the backlight resulting in improved contrast and providing superior LED backlighting when compared to edge-lit LED backlight sets.

In addition to Active LED Zones technology, Advanced Color Management and Active Pixel Tuning provide viewers with precise color operation for richer, more accurate colors and micro-brightness controls at the pixel level for luminance adjustments, further increasing contrast and picture detail accuracy. Sports fans or action enthusiasts will appreciate Clear Action Rate 960 which is measured using high-speed effective refresh rates and precise synchronization of backlight scanning to enhance motion clarity and deliver incredibly crisp fast action scenes. To further ensure stunning detail in every image on screen, VIZIO equipped units in the all-new 2014 P-Series collection with Pure Pixel Processing Engine that further enhances sharp detail, while reducing noise and artifacts caused by scaling, compression and video devices.

Since a connected experience is a key piece of the entertainment agenda, the P-Series Ultra HD Smart TVs also offer an enhanced smart TV experience, equipped with 802.11ac dual-band MIMO wireless for the fastest, most efficient streaming experience possible and VIZIO’s latest generation Smart TV platform, VIZIO Internet Apps Plus. VIZIO Internet Apps Plus offers consumers a plethora of streaming music and video options as well as dual screen functionalities with the ability to push content to the TV from mobile devices through apps supporting second screen interactivity. The seamless second-screen experience offered by VIZIO Internet Apps, with initial support by YouTube and Netflix, works with Android and Apple iOS smartphones and tablets when the TV and device are on the same WiFi network. Users can search for content on the corresponding app on their smartphone or tablet and then simply click to play the content on the big screen, as well as control playback on the TV from their mobile device. The VIZIO Smart TV experience is further enhanced by a new Wi-Fi Direct Universal Smart Remote, which delivers more convenience than conventional IR remotes, allowing consumers to control the TV without the need to point the remote at the TV.

Focused on bringing an Ultra HD solution to market when it made the most sense for consumers, VIZIO aimed to drastically enhance usability, tapping into technologies that allow for greater content consumption. Equipped with HEVC H.265 codec, the VIZIO P-Series Ultra HD Full-Array Smart TVs enable consumers to stream Ultra HD content through Ultra HD enabled apps such as Netflix, with HDCP 2.2 support also built-in, allowing playback of protected Ultra HD content. To ensure picture quality always remains king, VIZIO also enabled the VM50, a dedicated motion and picture-processing engine that beautifully renders every image, including Ultra HD content, with incredible detail and the latest HDMI standard for display of Ultra HD content up to 60 fps.

To support the P-Series picture quality and Ultra HD usability, VIZIO developed a V6 six-core processor, comprised of a quad-core GPU plus dual-core CPU, to deliver advanced graphics processing and even faster smart TV user experience. In addition, the VM50 Ultra HD motion and picture-processing engine enhances every Ultra HD image with incredible detail. At the pixel level, the Pure Pixel Processing Engine (P3E) further enhances sharp detail and gamma control, while reducing noise and artifacts caused by scaling, compression and video devices.
