The Yamaha SR-C30A Soundbar Belongs On Your Desktop

If you are looking for a soundbar for a bedroom or den, the Yamaha SR-C30A is an affordable option with a wireless subwoofer that just might work for you.

Yamaha SR-C30A Soundbar under TV

Do you have the need for a soundbar in the bedroom or on your desktop? We can only recommend medication for the first location, but there is an argument to be made that a smaller soundbar and wireless subwoofer can work on the desktop if you don’t have to worry about co-workers being disturbed by the sound. One affordable option might be the new Yamaha SR-C30A Soundbar for only $279 USD.

While most soundbars seem to be getting larger and offering support for formats like Dolby Atmos, there is also growing demand for smaller units that can work in guest bedrooms, the home office, or a den and still offer an immersive experience while watching television or movies. We are currently reviewing a new soundbar from Polk Audio that delivers an excellent experience in a much smaller footprint.

Yamaha SR-C30A Soundbar System

The Yamaha SR-C30A is a compact soundbar (only 23.6 inches wide and 2-1/2 inches high) that also comes with a wireless subwoofer.

With its compact size, the soundbar is well-suited for use with smaller screen-size TVs and PC monitors. The bar fits well smaller furniture such as desks.

The wireless subwoofer is also conveniently slim and can be placed either vertically or horizontally, providing more placement options.

Even with its smaller size, the SR-C30A has several advanced features, such as Clear Voice for dialogue clarity, 3D Surround Sound for cinema-like sonic immersion, and Adaptive Low Volume for watching shows without disturbing others. Wireless Bluetooth connectivity is also included.

Tip: The Yamaha SR-C30A does not have built-in Wi-Fi for direct internet streaming, but you can listen to streaming music services via Bluetooth connectivity with compatible smart phones.

Audio Processing: Dolby Audio, Dolby Pro Logic II

Sound Modes: Standard, Stereo, Game, and 3D Movie. Game mode enhances sound for near-field listening. 3D Movie mode is a proprietary 3D virtual surround sound mode created just for the SR-C30A to provide the most realistic and enveloping sound for movies.

Bluetooth: Version 5.0

Bluetooth Profiles: A2DP

Bluetooth Codecs: SBC, AAC

Compressed Music Enhancer: This feature employs digital signal processing algorithms to enhance digitally compressed audio formats, such as MP3 so that they sound as good as possible when listening on the soundbar.

Clear Voice: This feature increases the audibility of voices and dialog so that they stand out in relation to music and sound effects which sometimes makes it difficult to hear what performers are saying.

Adaptive Low Volume: The feature automatically equalizes high, mid, and low frequencies for optimal sound at low volumes. This is more effective than the  “night listening” modes in other sound bar brands that compress frequencies across the board.

Yamaha SR-C30A Remote

Control: Top panel controls (soundbar), wireless remote control, Sound Bar Remote app for iOS and Android.

Tabletop or Wall-Mount Bar Placement: Built-in keyholes in the soundbar are provided for easy wall-mounting.

Vertical or Horizontal Sub Placement: Adhesive feet for the sub included in the box allow you to pick your desired subwoofer orientation.
