Sound Blaster Re:Imagine Modular Audio Hubs with AI Debut on Kickstarter

Creative Labs reinvents the iconic Sound Blaster with the Re:Imagine, a modular high-resolution audio hub combining PC, gaming, and pro audio control with open Linux customization, smart modules, and studio-grade sound.

Creative Sound Blaster Re:Imagine Modular Audio Hub Front View

Creative Labs, the company that defined PC audio in the ’90s with its legendary Sound Blaster line, is back with something bigger than a sound card. The new Sound Blaster Re:Imagine is a next-generation modular audio hub designed to unify every part of your setup—PCs, consoles, instruments, microphones, headphones, and powered speakers—into one streamlined control center. It’s the logical evolution of Creative’s 30-year legacy and 400 million devices shipped worldwide.

But Creative isn’t alone in chasing this new frontier of hybrid gaming and hi-fi integration—brands like Schiit Audio have already shown the way with the Fulla and Gunnr hubs. The difference is that Creative’s take aims to merge its Sound Blaster DNA with the flexibility today’s gamers and creators actually need.

Modular and Customizable: A Future-Proof Audio Hub for Every Setup

The Re:Imagine takes flexibility seriously, with magnetically attached, swappable modules that let you shape the system to fit your workflow. Whether it’s Smart Touch Screensslidersknobs, or quick keys, each module snaps into place and can be rearranged or upgraded as your setup evolves. The Re:Imagine Horizon base unit serves as the foundation—shown below with several of its removable modules—offering a level of modularity rarely seen in consumer audio gear.

When connected to a PC, the Re:Imagine transforms into a powerful control center. Its programmable buttons and dials can be customized to launch apps, trigger shortcuts like muting a call or switching inputs, and even execute full macros with a single press. Beyond audio, it also integrates with Matter-enabled smart home devices, giving users the ability to manage their workspace or studio lighting directly from the hub.

Programmable Controls

With its attachable modules, the Re:Imagine offers complete control customization. Every button, dial, and touch surface can be programmed as a macro to perform virtually any action—whether it’s muting a call, triggering a code compile, launching an app, or activating a Matter-enabled smart home device.

Audio & App Support: Seamless Integration Across Platforms and Devices

The Re:Imagine delivers true high-resolution audio, supporting up to 32-bit/384 kHz playback through a studio-grade DAC and amplifier capable of driving everything from reference headphones to full-size powered speakers.

Connectivity is equally versatile, featuring USB-Cmicline, and optical inputs, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack, a dedicated USB port for PC connection, plus Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth for seamless integration with wireless gear. Input sources can be switched effortlessly via the built-in touchscreen interface.

Creative also leans into its playful side with a suite of integrated apps—including retro DOS gamesmusic visualizers, an AI-powered DJ, and nostalgic returns of the Sound Blaster Parrot and Dr. Sbaitso, both reimagined as modern AI companions.

Creators and Developer Access: Open Platform for Customization

The Re:Imagine runs on a Linux-based platform, and Creative has confirmed that users will have root access to the hardware. That means developers and tinkerers can dig in, build their own apps, or completely repurpose the hub for alternative workflows. It’s an open invitation to expand what the Sound Blaster name can do beyond audio.

Under the hood, it’s powered by an octa-core processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD. Apps run directly on its 3-inch touchscreen, with support for retro DOS gamesAI-driven assistants, and an AI DJ capable of generating music based on themes or moods.

The Bottom Line

The Creative Sound Blaster Re:Imagine is more than a nostalgic nod to the Sound Blaster legacy—it’s a bold rethinking of what a modern audio hub can be. Combining studio-grade DAC performancepowerful headphone amplificationmatrix-style audio routing, and modular expandability, it bridges the gap between PC audio, gaming, and professional production. With attachable modulescustomizable macros, and open Linux-based architecture, it’s as much a developer sandbox as it is a creative tool.

For gamers, it simplifies multi-device setups while improving sound quality. For musicians and streamers, it offers tactile control, flexible routing, and easy expansion. And for developers and tinkerers, it’s a rare invitation to build directly on top of Creative’s hardware. After three decades of defining PC audio, Creative seems ready to redefine it again—this time, for creators, coders, and audiophiles alike.
