Simaudio Ltd. proudly announces the introduction of the new MOON Calypso DVD Transport/Player, our newest addition to the MOON A/V series of Home Theater components. Standard features include both a progressive scan output (480p) and a Serial Digital Interface (SDI) video output. The MOON Calypso will be sold as a stand-alone DVD transport with both an optional Digital-to-Analog audio circuit and/or an optional DVI-D video output circuit. Each of these options will be available, independantly, at either the time of purchase or as “in-the-field” upgrades.
Significant Design Features:
· Internal progressive scan (480p) circuitry using Faroudja’s DCDia Technology.
· Optional high-performance two-channel analog audio output circuitry using BurrBrown
PCM1730E 24-bit/192-kHz DAC’s with 8X oversampling digital filter.
· Optional DVI-D video output circuit (480p).
· 10-bit/54MHz oversampled video circuitry with active current-to-voltage converter.
· Philips SD3 High-performance transport mechanism with dual-laser pickup.
· SRS Labs TruSurrounda 3D surround software for optional 2-channel audio output.
· Full array of output connectors: S/PDIF (BNC) & Optical (TosLink) for digital audio;
Composite (RCA), S-Video (5-pin mini-DIN),
Component Interlaced (RCA), Component Progressive
(BNC) and SDI (BNC) for video.
· Compatible with DVD-Video, CD Audio, Video CD, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+RW.
· Full-function RS-232 port control and status for custom integration or automation.
· Support for NTSC (interlaced & progressive) and PAL (interlaced only) video formats.
· Support for all audio formats (i.e. Linear PCM, MPEG, Dolby, DTS, etc.)
· “Rack mount ready” faceplate with stylish removeable aluminum cheeks.
