Thanks for the look and the info. Personally, I find my standard Linksys 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet, unmanaged Switch, works flawlessly for streaming Dolby ATMOS / Vision content into my 7.2.4 home theater and high res music to my dedicated 2-channel system via Qobuz. I put these audiophile switches in the same category as 3rd party power cables, and cable risers … if you have the money to throw away on them, it’s your system, buy what you like, and enjoy your gear.

Same. I have a “How to build a network for hi-res streaming and 4K video HT” guide coming out this week. I agree on the audiophile switches. $1,000 ethernet cables are utter nonsense. Hi-Fi reviewers who advocate for them are not thinking about the perception of the industry from the mainstream — you should read the emails we get. Not pretty.

This actually appeals to me. I haven’t paid any attention to the iFi brand until now, but this is a really cool looking product and would be useful to have additional ethernet ports in my system. Will it improve the sound quality of my streaming home theater receiver? Who knows…but cool nonetheless.

iFi Audio makes some great accessories that have really proven their worth. I’m still kinda on the fence about audiophile switches like this. I think they are unnecessarily expensive. We have a “how to create a home network for hi-res streaming and 4K home theater” coming out this week. Better options for less.

There are two things that you can say about this product:
• At least they’re not charging a thoroughly ridiculous for this thing ($2500)and it seems to work well
• There is no reason to spend much more than $100 on a switch. No reason at all.
