Sennheiser HD 471, 461 and 451 Headphones

Sennheiser HD 471

Sennheiser today introduced the next generation of its HD 400 series of over-ear headphones at IFA 2015. The three new closed-back models include the HD 451 (not sold in U.S.), HD 461 and HD 471, all of which are priced under $110. Powered by Sennheiser’s proprietary neodymium magnets, the company says all three models deliver excellent stereo sound, while catering to different sound preferences. The HD 461 models feature powerful bass, whereas the HD 471 offers a more balanced, lifelike sound experience. Otherwise they differ by their convenience and accessory options.

The new HD 400 series headphones are designed to be the perfect companions to mobile devices and for enjoying music on the go, with closed-back, over-ear designs which keep the listener comfortably isolated from external noise and prevent disturbance of others. Convenience and portability of the range are ensured by strong yet lightweight designs, well-thought ergonomics and tangle-free, single-sided cables, while the soft leatherette ear pads of the HD 461 and HD 471 offer greater comfort even for long periods of use.

The HD 461 and HD 471 feature detachable cables with inline remotes and microphones that make taking calls and controlling music playback on a smart device effortless. These models are available in dedicated versions for Android and Apple iOS devices. Reflecting its added appeal to the committed listener, the range-topping HD 471 also includes a 3m cable, a gold-plated plug and a 6.3mm stereo adapter to optimise connectivity with home Hi-Fi equipment. This model also comes supplied with a carry pouch for added protection and convenient storage on the go.
