M&K Sound Introduces V+ Series Subwoofers

M&K adds three V+ Series models in 10, 12, and 15-inch sizes for 2022. Find out what they have to offer for your home theater setup.

M&K Sound V+ Subwoofers 2022

M&K Sound (aka Miller & Kreisel) is one of the historical inventors of the subwoofer and has never lost its touch as its subs continue to provide leading-edge performance and design.

Following up on the introduction of their X+ high-end subwoofer series, M&K has announced three new “midrange” V+ Series subwoofers in the 10, 12, and 15-inch sizes. Let’s take a look at what this trio of subwoofers offers.

M&K Sound V+ Series Subwoofer Features

THX Certification: While the V10+ is designed to deliver good performance, it’s not THX Certified. However, the V12+ and 15+ are THX certified. This means that these subwoofers have been submitted and passed THX standards for application and performance.

THX Certification Process

The V12+ is THX Select Certified which means it is optimized for rooms up to 2,000 cubic feet and a 10-foot viewing distance from the screen.

The V15+ is THX Ultra Certified which means it is optimized for rooms up to 3,000 cubic feet and a 12-foot viewing distance from the screen (when two V15+ subwoofers are used together).

THX Certified Performance Classes

Subwoofer Design: The V+ series subwoofers all feature a single driver/sealed cabinet design.

Cabinet Construction: The V+ Subwoofers have a 1-inch thick MDF cabinet with 1 1/2inch Baffle and a full center brace/woofer magnet support.

Speaker Driver Construction: The V+ Drivers have a reinforced steel frame, ceramic magnet, honeycomb treated paper cone with fiberglass dust cap.

Amplification: Class D power amplifiers are incorporated into all three subs with the following power output capabilities:

  • V10+: 300 Watts RMS/600 Watts Peak
  • V12+: 400 Watts RMS/800 Watts Peak
  • V15+: 500 Watts RMS/1000 Watts Peak

Low-Frequency Extension: Under optimum conditions, the V10+ and V12+ reach down to 25Hz, and the V15+ goes down to 20Hz.
