Yamaha A-S2100 Integrated Amp & CD-S2100 SACD Player

Yamaha A-S2100 and CD-S2100

Yamaha just introduced a $7,500 stereo component combo for serious audiophiles, which includes A-S2100 integrated amplifier and CD-S2100 CD/SACD player. These elegantly styled components utilize the company’s signature natural sound profile to deliver the truest audio reproduction and superior music experiences.

Both models feature advanced original circuitry that eliminates signal loss for the delivery of dynamic audio when listening to any genre of music. These units maintain the classic Yamaha Hi-Fi-style and many of the state-of-the-art features of the company’s flagship A-S3000 and CD-S3000 models — true statement pieces designed to excite the most discerning audiophiles.

“Audiophiles’ do not want to simply hear the music—they want to feel it in its most natural sense,” said Bob Goedken, general manager, Yamaha Corporation of America, AV Division. “The A-S2100 and CD-S2100 have been built-by-ear and rigorously evaluated to deliver the ultimate music experiences that will engage, excite and transport listeners.”

The A-S2100’s all-stage fully discrete construction, balanced transmission and low impedance design result in reduced noise and the elimination of signal transmission loss to drive audio production with greater vitality, richness and smoothness.

The amplifier’s floating and balanced design with MOSFETs deliver powerful and highly dynamic sound filled with energy. Excellent quality bass is achieved by the same world-class original amplifier circuit from the flagship A-S3000 model.

The A-S2100 employs a customized original EI transformer and four large capacity carbon sheath capacitors that deliver dynamic sound even at the highest volumes. Its left-right symmetrical design, with the power supply in the center and the power amp blocks on the ends, achieves greater separation for superior two-channel stereo reproduction. The A-S2100 is built with exceptional mechanical rigidity and installation stability that protects its high sound quality by minimizing external vibration.

The CD-S2100 shares the circuit configuration of the flagship CD-S3000 that extracts and transmits all audio information without any loss of fidelity. The built-in USB DAC enables listeners to fully realize the superior D/A conversion capability of the CD-S2100.

The CD/SACD player features the exceptionally high performing 32-bit ES9016 from ESS Technology that can handle large amounts of audio data, provide strength and precise definition in both the low and high registers. The result is extraordinarily expressive sound from all disc-based media.

The CD-S2100 player accomplishes superior vibration control and ultra-precise signal reading via an optimized high-precision rigid CD mechanism.

The A-S2100 and CD-S2100 are available in black or silver finishes and are classically styled with clean lines and rich black piano side panels. The A-S2100 integrated amp also features large eye-catching level meters.

Brian can you confirm that the digital inputs use the same DAC’s as the CD? I’ve not been able to 100% confirm this yet, although it seems logical that they would.
