New Windows Vista-Based Notebook Provides Ample Storage Capacity and 15.4-Inch Display

Toshiba’s Digital Product Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced the Satellite A135-S4527, a sub $800, 15.4-inch diagonal widescreen notebook computer that provides a capable blend of power and multimedia capabilities for both families and students on a budget.

Keeping multimedia enthusiasts and families in mind, the Satellite A135-S4527 sports a generous 120GB(1) removable serial ATA hard disk drive that’s robust enough to store hours of video or music, thousands of photos and still provide storage for term papers, homework and presentations. The Satellite A135-S4527 is built around a vibrant 15.4-inch diagonal widescreen display, and is equipped with a standard DVD SuperMulti optical drive for watching DVDs and burning data and personal multimedia projects to one of 11 major DVD/CD formats–including double layer media–which provide users with the flexibility to choose the format that best suits their needs and storage requirements.

Preloaded with Windows Vista™ Home Premium, each user has the power of a next-generation operating system to further enhance individual productivity. The Satellite A135-S4527 incorporates the Intel Pentium dual-core processor and has 1024MB(2) of DDR2 SDRAM memory.

With a starting estimated single unit price of less than $800(3), the Satellite A135 notebook line is available in multiple configurations at a variety of major consumer electronics and computer stores nationwide, as well as at http://www.toshibadirect.com.

The Satellite A135 notebook series comes with a standard one-year limited warranty(4), which includes carry-in support at Authorized Service Providers throughout the country, or the customer may utilize any of the more than 3,000 UPS Stores for packaging and delivery of the product to a centralized depot for prompt service. Customers can also choose to upgrade their notebook’s service plans for up to four years of extended service.

All new Toshiba notebooks are RoHS-compatible(5), effectively minimizing the environmental impact by restricting the use of lead, mercury and certain other hazardous substances.
