CheckPoint HR’s Web-Based Platform is Enabling the Growing Sports and Fitness Center Chain to Manage Payroll, Recruiting and Benefits

Edison, NJ (April 24, 2007) — CheckPoint HR, LLC, an innovator and leading Administrative Service Organization (ASO) that offers small- to mid-size organizations a single source for human resources, payroll services and benefits administration, today announced a major customer win with Parisi Sports Clubs, a rapidly expanding northern New Jersey health club chain. Leveraging CheckPoint HR’s Web-based Human Resource Management System (HRMS), the growing sports and fitness center chain is optimizing its payroll, recruiting and benefits more efficiently while cutting costs.

Parisi went live with CheckPoint HR in April 2006 and its first payroll implementation was seamless. Since then, Parisi has experienced an annual savings of over $40,000 and is currently experiencing a decrease in bookkeeping errors while continuously improving the productivity of the HR manager. With over 250 employees on CheckPoint HR’s platform, Parisi is also experiencing a decrease in turnover through the online training and selling skills seminars that empower full and part-time staff members.

Faced with the increasing costs of healthcare benefits, CheckPoint HR’s benefits subsidiary, The Wilshire Group, was able to reduce Parisi’s overall group health insurance premiums by developing creative ideas specific to their Rx program. “Parisi employees were able to keep the same plan design while the company realized an immediate cost-savings,” said Patrick Carragher of The Wilshire Group. “The overall goal of The Wilshire Group is to deliver quality and comprehensive benefits plans at very competitive rates.”

According to Beth Taylor, HR Manager for Parisi, CheckPoint HR’s HRMS was tailor-made for health clubs that have a mix of part- and full-time employees in multiple locations. It offers a Web-based platform that can be easily accessed to update payroll and manage all benefits operations.

“Before CheckPoint HR, we operated in a pencil and paper HR environment to track employees,” added Taylor. “With our growing business, we needed a system to accommodate employees located in remote locations and to create endless efficiencies.”

With part-time employees outnumbering full-timers, it was paramount for Taylor to select a system that offered an online portal for them to log in easily to receive answers to HR questions and track individual accounts. “Our goal was to streamline our HR applications including termination, payroll, online training, paid time off requests and more. With CheckPoint HR, it makes my job easier by automating our processes and reducing the need for managers to be involved in HR so they can focus on taking care of our staff and delivering better service to our members,” said Taylor.

Parisi Sports Clubs has various locations throughout New Jersey including Midland Park, Fair Lawn, Wyckoff, Garwood and Morris Plains, Parisi focuses on lifestyle enhancement by offering a variety of sports and fitness activities such as a nationally recognized speed school for athletes of all ages and abilities, results-driven personal training program, specialized nutrition programming and newly launched Fit Kids program to assist with the ever-increasing child obesity epidemic. The rapid expansion of the health clubs across five locations, drove Parisi to select CheckPoint HR to streamline its HR operations.
