Samsung is Going Hard on AI When it Comes to Its 2025 TV Lineup: CES 2025

2025 Samsung 4K TVs come loaded with AI features in sizes up to 115 inches, while more models get Art capabilities, and 8K stays alive.

2025 Samsung TV Art Basel Collection

Is Samsung’s 18 year reign on the Iron Throne of TVs in danger? TCL and Hisense are charging hard and we suspect that the Korean manufacturer is going to have to do something innovative to keep the competition a step behind in 2025. Is AI enough to do that? Samsung’s CES 2025 line-up of new TVs certainly makes us think that is going to be the case.

Samsung TV 2025 – It’s All About AI

As part of its continuing technology innovation, 2024 saw the debut of its fastest-ever AI processor to achieve an optimal viewing experience.

However, Samsung isn’t stopping there as they are expanding the use of AI across more aspects of TV performance and across more model series in Samsung’s TV product line under the Vision AI label.

For 2025, Vision AI implements improved AI Upscaling, Auto HDR Remastering, Color Booster Pro, and Adaptive Sound Pro to deliver the best viewing experience so far from select Samsung TVs.

Samsung’s 2025 TVs have a number of AI features designed to help users to discover new content and learn more about what is being viewed.

Here is a sampling of additional AI features

  • Click (AI Button on Remote) to Search: This feature can identify people, places, or products on your screen and provide information tailored to you, in real time. Users can also find out who the actors are in a given scene, where that scene is taking place, or even the clothing the characters are wearing.
  • Samsung Food: The AI processor can recognize the food on your screen and provide recipes for bringing it to life. Samsung Food can also analyze what’s in your fridge and make a shopping list of missing ingredients. Users can also purchase groceries or takeout using provider apps and monitor delivery right from their TVs.
  • Security: Samsung AI Home Security transforms the TV into a smart security hub. It analyzes video feeds from your connected cameras and audio from your TV’s microphone to provide comprehensive home monitoring.
    • It can also detect unusual sounds and movements, such as falls or break-ins, to give you more peace of mind whether you’re at home, or away. You’ll receive alerts and notifications on your phone or directly on your TV screen, helping you stay connected to your home while ensuring the safety and well-being of your loved ones.
  • Accessibility: The AI can provide new features such as Live Translate. Now, you can instantly translate closed captions on live broadcasts in up to seven languages.
    • They are also improving AI-based Voice Removal with Audio Subtitles, a groundbreaking feature for the visually impaired. The 2025 TVs will analyze subtitles, isolate voices, and adjust reading speed for a seamless experience.
  • Bixby: Samsung has trained its voice assistant, Bixby, to better understand context and assist with multiple actions – like changing the channel and raising the volume at the same time.

Non-AI Features

  • Universal Gestures: This is not an AI feature, but it provides a new way to control your Samsung TV using prompts and hand gestures on a Galaxy Watch.
  • Samsung Knox Matrix: This feature provides end-to-end encryption for all personal data.
  • Tizen OS + Why Samsung: The 2025 Samsung TV lineup will also feature an enhanced Tizen OS, offering more ways to discover new content and access your favorite entertainment.
  • Samsung TV Plus: This feature provides all the entertainment you want at zero cost. You can choose from 300+ live TV channels and thousands of movies and shows on demand, all for free.
  • Samsung Gaming Hub: This provides access to thousands of games from Xbox, Nvidia GeForce Now, and more, without the need for a console or PC.
  • SmartThings: Integrate your TV and smart devices within one central ecosystem. It’s even compatible with more than 340 smart home brands.

Samsung Neo QLED 8K TVs

For 2025, Samsung continues to forge ahead with 8K TV offerings, their Neo QLED 8K TV line will include the QN990F and QN900F. Both ultra-premium TVs are packed with several firsts to deliver the pinnacle of immersive 8K viewing.

  • Glare-Free Technology: After creating the industry’s first OLED TV with Glare-Free technology, this innovation is coming to the 8K TV lineup. This technology supports improved viewing in any room, bright or dark.
  • Wireless One Connect Box: The QN990F includes the Wireless One Connect Box. This box can transmit video/audio wirelessly up to 10 meters away, even with obstacles in its path using Wi-Fi7 and Omni-Directional Technology. It supports transmission of 8K resolution video at up to 120Hz.
  • Samsung Art Store: The Samsung Art Store is accessible on the QN990F, QN900F, and several other models across our 2025 lineup. Users can create a gallery-like experience with access to 3,000+ pieces from renowned museums and institutions.
  • Metal Frame Design: Furthering a design-focused aesthetic, the QN900F incorporates a new Metal Frame design that compliments any space.

Pro Tip: Owners of 2025 Samsung Neo QLED 8Ks, Neo QLED 4Ks, QLEDs, and The Frame will all be able to display works of art from The Met, The MoMA, Musée d’Orsay and so many more.

Samsung Neo QLED 4K TVs

The Samsung Neo QLED 4K TV lineup includes the QN90F, QN80F and QN70F.

  • Glare-Free Technology: The flagship QN90F will feature Glare-Free Technology for distraction-free viewing across every environment.
  • Upgraded Video Processing: The QN90F incorporates Samsung’s advanced NQ4 AI Gen3 Processor that supports 4K AI Upscaling Pro and improved picture quality. For gamers, a 165Hz refresh rate powers a smooth, uninterrupted, and lag-free picture.
  • Supersize Picture Enhancer: The QN90F model series will also include a 115-inch screen size option, while the QN80F will be available in up to a 100-inch screen size. Supersize Picture Enhancer is included on these models to optimize picture quality on big screen sizes without blur.
  • 4K TV Entry Point: The QN70F offers a new entry point into the Samsung Neo QLED portfolio.

All three models mentioned above incorporate AI features such as Click to Search, Samsung Food, and Live Translate to deliver a more informed, more connected, and simply more fun TV viewing experience.

The Frame TV

2025 Samsung The Frame TV on wall lifestyle

The Frame is a TV that lets you enjoy your favorite content while it’s on and transforms into breathtaking artwork when it’s off. The original Frame TV was introduced in 2017 and has grown in popularity to the point where other TV makers, such as Hisense and TCL are making their own versions of this “Art TV” concept.

Beyond its distinctive design and customizable bezels, the frame sits flush against your wall, just like a piece of art.

The Samsung Art Store provides access to thousands of renowned works spanning styles, time periods, and geographic locations. During, Samsung released several collections with Art Basel Miami Beach, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Marimekko, and many more.

The Frame is also the only art TV with Pantone ArtfulColor validation – so every artwork looks exactly as the artist intended. The Frame is also UL-certified for its Anti-Reflection with Matte Display, limiting light distraction so that artwork can be more realistically displayed.

Sitting alongside The Frame in their 2025 art TV lineup, The Frame Pro is designed to upgrade your space and compliment your aesthetic, delivering a personal art gallery, immersive entertainment hub, and premium gaming center, all in one, fully customizable TV.

The Frame Pro incorporates a Neo QLED display, with boosted brightness and enhanced contrast, ensuring your favorite art AND your favorite shows always look their best – even in bright environments. It also supports a 144Hz refresh rate, making this 2025 offering a gaming powerhouse on a museum-quality screen.

The Frame Pro also comes with a Wireless One Connect Box – eliminating messy cable management, simplifying installation, and reducing distractions from the gallery-worthy picture.

The Frame and The Frame Pro are a core Samsung lifestyle portfolio, alongside The Premiere UST projectors, The Terrace outdoor TVs, the Freestyle 2nd Gen portable projector, and much more.  We will find out if new models for 2025 are forthcoming for these products.

Samsung OLED TVs

As the fastest-growing OLED TV brand, Samsung continues to push the boundaries of OLED innovation with its 2025 lineup: the S95F, S90F, and S85F.

S95F: The flagship S95F incorporates an upgraded AI processor, improved industry-first OLED Glare-Free technology, and is brighter than previous models. With the S95F, glare from overhead lighting, floor lamps, and sunshine will be even less noticeable than before thanks to a lower reflection rate. Now, the screen provides an even better viewing experience while maintaining its Pantone-validated colors, pure blacks and bright whites.

Also, knowing that nearly 60 percent of Samsung OLED owners game at least once a month, the S95F will offer a 165Hz variable refresh rate that gives every gamer a competitive edge.

In addition, the S95F boasts even better brightness than its predecessor, solidifying it as the world’s brightest OLED. And, its advanced NQ4 AI Gen 3 Processor optimizes contrast, brightness, depth, and color for extraordinary detail across every scene.

Details on the S90F and S85F are forthcoming.

Editorial Comment: Although Samsung markets the S95F, S90F, and S85F as OLED TVS, some models use QD-OLED panels made by Samsung and some use WOLED panels made by LG Display Company.  When confronted in 2024 as to which TV models are incorporating which panels Samsung provided the following non-response:

Samsung OLED TVs consistently offer a premium experience while delivering excellent viewing performance powered by our NQ4 AI Gen2 AI processor, regardless of the specific panels that are integrated into the product

Apparently, Samsung wants to conceal which OLED technology is used in specific OLED TV models, but we’re not sure how that helps buyers. Here is how this affected Samsung’s 2024 OLED TV models.

The Bottom Line

The buzzword for CES 2025 is AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Samsung is wholeheartedly embracing it. In fact, their pre-CES pre-briefing earlier in December 2024 and their most recent Pre-CES Press Materials emphasize AI more than details on specific TV models.

Samsung’s AI features encompass almost the entire operation of the TV, not only delivering optimal video and audio quality but also the management of content access and navigation.

Outside of AI, what we know so far with regards to Samsung’s 2025 TV models is that they are not abandoning 8K, with 2 models series planned. Samsung is also continuing its popular lifestyle Frame TVs as well as expanding its OLED TV line.

Once Samsung releases specific details, such as the complete TV model range, screen sizes, and specs, we will have a better idea of what they really have to offer consumers in 2025.

There was one part of the press release that we found slightly odd and we’re not sure what it has to do with TV performance or functionality.

“Together, Samsung’s AI-backed accessibility features are eliminating barriers and making sure Samsung TVs are inclusive and accessible for everyone.”

Have TVs ever not been inclusive or accessible? Do they only offer certain features for specific groups of people?

We also have some reservations in regard to the AI-enhanced security features which seem rather intrusive; hopefully one can turn off the microphones in the menu?
