Runcos VX-22i Projector Featuring CineWide with AutoScope Brings Integration to a New Level

Adding to its best-selling Video Xtreme portfolio, the VX-22i combines the finest in Runco video processing and engineering to deliver its newly-integrated projector platform.

Las Vegas, NV — CES 2008 — January 7 — 10, 2008 — Runco is again expanding the brand’s Video Xtreme line of 1080p DLP projectors with the introduction of its VX-22i featuring CineWide with Autoscope. The VX-22i joins the prestigious line of Runco 3-chip projectors, building upon the best-selling platform of Runco’s VX-22d and featuring an integrated, advanced all-digital controller. Like the Runco VX-22d, the VX-22i offers a high-definition integration projector, tested and certified by the THX Certified Display program with legendary Runco 3-chip projector performance and screen-filling power.

Combining the video controller/processor into the projector, the Runco VX-22i offers an integrated solution for the discerning home theater enthusiast. Integrated into the projector chassis, Runco’s acclaimed DHD controller features HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) connectivity for optimum compatibility with a broad range of source components. The widely-heralded DHD has been such a success that Runco focused the engineering changes only to those necessary for optimal 1080p performance with the new projectors, retaining the features and performance that have made its proprietary DHD so popular. For the ultimate in viewing flexibility and enjoyment, the VX-22i has Runco’s exclusive award- winning CineWide and CineWide with AutoScope technology. This ground-breaking solution can transform a superb home theater system into a true home cinema experience, reproducing 2.35:1 CinemaScope movies with unparalleled accuracy and full vertical screen image height, eliminating useless black bars

“The newest addition to our Video Xtreme line-up provides an integrated solution using the same award-winning Runco technology,” said Scott Hix, vice president and general manager, Planar Systems Inc. Home Theater. “This projection system was created for the very finest home theater applications, and provides stunning picture quality with the uncompromised performance expected from the Runco brand.”

Featuring a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 and utilizing advanced three 16:9 SuperOnyx DMDs combined with Runco’s award-winning Vivix II video processing, the resulting images are breathtaking. Engineered to provide stellar 1080p performance without compromise, the Runco VX-22i utilizes the same footprint and versatile feature set as the best-selling VX-22d.

Like all of Runco’s Video Xtreme models, the VX-22i has been designed for outstanding picture quality through Runco’s three-chip implementation of DLP, each chip is dedicated to a specific color — red, green and blue — for superb color spectrum purity. Runco’s VX-22i offers the industry’s best black level and contrast performance. Runco has engineered Imaging Science Foundation (ISF) calibration standards into every model for the purest video performance.
All of Runco’s Video Xtreme 1080p 3-chip models are offered with numerous configuration options and prices, for a broad and versatile lineup that will easily meet the needs of any high-end installation requirement.

MSRP of the VX-22i is $39,995, or $54,995 when equipped with the CineWide with AutoScope option and Runco’s most advanced McKinley anamorphic optics. The Runco VX-22i is now shipping.
