RTI Launches All-New RP-1 Processor & Ships U1 Controller to Dealers Nationwide

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN — June 29, 2005 — Summer is the season for outdoor fun, and every backyard barbeque, pool party, and relaxing night in the hot tub is better enjoyed with the best music, TV programming, and movies. That’s why Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI), the pioneer in home control technology, is unveiling a rugged new way to control audio and video systems from just about anywhere. The new U1 Waterproof Universal System Controller has begun shipping to dealers across the nation. The handheld remote retails for $299.00 and provides comfortable and reliable wireless control over virtually any entertainment system in almost any environment. It’s the perfect tool for installers whose customers want to take the fun of their home entertainment systems with them–even into the great outdoors.

And, hot on the heels of the U1 release is news of an all-new Remote Control Processor that incorporates many features of the highly successful RP-6 at an even more affordable price point, the RP-1. “We’ve had a number of dealers asking for a product that combines the best attributes of the RP-6 with a more compact design,” said Pete Baker, director of sales and marketing for RTI. “The RP-1 is the perfect complement to some of the newest additions in our remote control lineup, and is a true match for the new U1 waterproof remote. It’s an ideal product for installers who need to give their customers powerful and highly responsive system control while working on a budget.”

The RP-1 Remote Control Processor allows installers to easily build an advanced control system using RTI`s family of universal remotes and accessory devices. Unlike simple IR-to-RF converters, the RP-1 opens the option of storing all of a system`s complex commands within a central controller at the equipment rack, in addition to storing them in the remote control or both at once. The RP-1 guarantees reliable control over an A/V system because it delivers stored codes and complete macro strings to the system’s components, requiring the remote to send only a single trigger signal to its built-in RF receiver. The RP-1 also features a built-in power sensing module and a connecting block for IR emitters and blasters. All of these included capabilities, along with its streamlined design, make the RP-1 an exceptionally flexible solution that can bring RTI’s industry-leading control to any home. The RP-1 retails for $379 and will begin shipping in July.
