Liberty Wire & Cable Demonstrates New Software Design, Spec and Quote Solutions

CADBlox, CADQuote, V-Series and WebBlox Provide Unparalleled User-Friendly Wall Plate and Panel Builders for A/V Project Designers

CEDIA EXPO, Indianapolis, Sept. 9, 2005 — Liberty Wire & Cable, worldwide supplier of a broad range of wire and cable products for the audio/video trade, including custom installers and systems integrators, demonstrates new software programs created for professional audio/video project designers at the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) Expo 2005, beginning here today.

The programs, developed for Liberty’s PanelCrafters division, include CADBlox, CADQuote, V-Series and WebBlox. All empower consultants, system integrators, representatives and other wire-and-cable professionals with the speed, simplicity, flexibility, and transformational power of advanced computing. They allow users to quickly design custom wall plates and panels, convert drawings into detailed specifications and cost quotes, and graphically add connectors into wall plate layouts.

CADBlox
CADBlox provides A/V designers and consultants with a turn-key solution for designing custom wall plates and panels. Simple to install and easy to use, CADBlox contains all of Liberty’s standard plate sizes and connectors. Its user-friendly drag-and-drop operation simplifies plate layout and eliminates lengthy design and proofing cycles, allowing users to shape their own plates and panels in a matter of minutes, assuring that project deadlines are met.

Fully compatible with AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT by AutoDesk, CADBlox’s advanced technology connects users with a wide range of wall plates and panel configurations, as well as a library containing more than 200 of the most popular connectors, as well as hard-to-find models. As soon as a plate or panel drawing is completed, it is immediately ready to be produced in PanelCrafters’ state-of-the-art CAD/CAM-driven manufacturing facility. Whether used to design a single or multi-gang wall plate or a rack panel, CADBlox transforms the most complex project into a simple one-step task.

CADQuote
CADQuote is a new application that uniquely bridges the gap between a drawing and the final production of a quote. CADQuote allows experienced CADBlox users to quote their panel designs from their desktops, than save the parts to their accounts. Proofs are automatically generated, and quotes can be easily generated combining any quantity of parts stored in the account. Its use requires a full version of AutoCAD.

CADBlox V-Series is a special design template for non-AutoCAD users, developed for Microsoft’s Visio. It contains Liberty’s standard plate sizes and connectors as pre-built Visio shapes. The connectors are separated by type into individual stencils that automatically load when the PanelCrafters template is opened. A quoting module is currently being tested and planned for release in the Fall of 2005.

WebBlox
WebBlox is a graphical, Web-based content management program that allows users to add connectors into wall plate layouts. The user specifies a gang plate’s size and color, and adds text as needed. WebBlox lets users save their design sketches into their accounts for future use, and can even be employed to search Liberty’s pre-configured catalog parts to see if an off-the-shelf solution is available. For non-CAD users, this all-in-one system does it all.
