The TV category offers some of the most impressive innovation in consumer A/V, and it is hard to not be impressed by the enormous strides made by manufacturers over the past 20 years. TVs are larger, lighter, more efficient, and capable of producing reference image quality once calibrated. LG recently introduced its 97-inch Wireless TV which is getting a lot of attention in the market. On the opposite end of the spectrum, LG just announced its portable StanbyME Go TV and this one is very different.
StanbyME Go In A Nutshell
Instead of going big, LG is going small, with wireless connectivity being the primary emphasis. The StanbyME Go is an innovative 1080p LCD-based display that allows users to enjoy video entertainment wirelessly wherever they go without sacrificing convenience or quality.
Tip: The StanbyME Go can’t be officially classified as a TV as it doesn’t come equipped with an over-the-air TV tuner.
The LG StanbyME Go has a 27-inch touchscreen that is attached to a stand within a sleek “suitcase”, and can be tilted, rotated, raised, and lowered while in landscape and portrait orientations and table mode.
The LG StanbyME Go also includes a 20-watt speaker system that adapts to the screen’s orientation, providing optimal surround sound, and supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos from compatible devices and content.
The StanbyME Go incorporates the LG webOS smart platform, Apple AirPlay, and screen mirroring via compatible iOS and Android devices. It also supports pairing via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Hands-free voice control is also supported.
The “suitcase” features a convenient carry handle and interior compartments to hold accessories (such as the remote control) and a built-in battery. The battery can provide up to three hours of viewing time between charges. You can also operate it off AC power if desired via the power cable.

The LG StanbyME Go is available for pre-order for $999.99, exclusively at LG.com.
