Hulu Plus is a new, revolutionary ad-supported subscription product that is incremental and complementary to the existing Hulu service. It is not a replacement for Hulu.com. Hulu Plus will offer the full season for almost all of the current broadcast shows. Every single episode of the current season will be available, not just a handful of trailing episodes.
Hulu Plus subscribers will be able to watch shows on a PC, Mac, Apple iPad, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 or third-generation iPod Touch over Wi-Fi or 3G. In addition an app download is now available on select Samsung Internet-connected TVs and Blu-ray players to stream Hulu Plus content directly to your HDTV.
You could start watching a show on your HDTV one night, pick up where you left off on your laptop at lunch, watch another chunk on the bus ride home on your iPhone, and finish watching in bed on your iPad.
Hulu Plus will also be ported to other devices and platforms, including Sony and VIZIO TVs and Blu-ray players in the near future. Hulu Plus access with Sony’s PlayStation 3 is expected in July and Xbox 360 in early 2011.
Hulu Plus will be priced $9.99 a month.
