Focal has a formidable track record in the loudspeaker category and is on hand at ISE (Integrated Systems Europe) from February 4th through 7th 2025 with several products including its previously released Utopia Diva wireless speakers, and is also debuting a new product offering, the UTOPIA CINEMA product line.
The line includes two products: the CINEMA LCR speaker and the CINEMA SUB. However, the speaker and subwoofer can be used to assemble a complete multi-speaker home theater setup.
Tip: LCR stands for Left, Center, Right – this means that the CINEMA LCR speaker can be used as a left, center, or right channel speaker – but it can also be used as a surround speaker if desired. Also, note that the subwoofer is a passive sub and not a powered sub – this means it requires external amplification.
The UTOPIA CINEMA line is designed for custom-installed private cinema setups in rooms up to 2153 sq ft (200m²)

The UTOPTIA CINEMA line features the latest Focal audio technologies from its professional division, including the revolutionary Utopia Main studio monitors unveiled on January 15, 2025. With their high level of immersion, resolution, and low-frequency impact, the UTOPIA CINEMA loudspeakers are designed to significantly improve the movie watching experience at home.
CINEMA LCR
The CINEMA LCR is a full-range (3-way), high SPL-capacity loudspeaker that can support power and precision, adapting to the requirements of the most optimized listening environments. Flexible crossover settings, such as the 0–30° selector, support the optimized performance of each loudspeaker depending on its purpose (central, left, or right channel), while its speaker drivers are designed to offer excellent clarity, detail, and the dynamic punch required for high-end home theater installations.
Tweeter: The CINEMA LCR’s tweeter incorporates beryllium and its ‘M’ shape helps to deliver superior transient response and accurate treble sound reproduction, with unparalleled precision. The tweeter’s power handling is improved by a 1″ coil and optimized heat dissipation. This speaker driver extends the ultra-high response with no distortion while halving THD to 3kHz thanks to TMD® (Tuned Mass Damper) technology complete with a Poron surround. Lastly, its rear acoustic environment is fully optimized with a waveguide and IAL (Infinite Acoustic Load) technology, further enhancing its sound performance.
Midrange: New 5″ ‘M’-shaped, ‘W’-cone midrange The midrange is capable of delivering an impressive dynamic range and transparency, thanks to the sound optimization of its magnet to prevent resonance. Moving in a perfect piston movement, the ‘M’ shape creates a completely flat wave thanks to its shallow depth. In addition, its small-roll surround with integrated TMD technology significantly reduces the intermodulation created by the surround. The goal of the driver is to provide timbral accuracy and a very high level of resolution.
Woofer: The CINEMA LCR employs a 13″ high-excursion ‘W’-cone woofer This speaker driver is housed in a solid cabinet, fitted with a large vent for enhanced bass response. By combining super-light moving components with a flexible surround, it offers excellent articulation and definition.
CINEMA SUB
Focal claims that the UTOPIA CINEMA SUB is the ultimate subwoofer for demanding rooms. Its two 13” woofer drivers support maximum excursion and precise bass control. Tuned to 19Hz, the CINEMA SUB is designed to support deep and impactful bass. With advanced sound design, it blends easily into multi-channel systems, enhancing sound effects or deep musical tones for a fully immersive experience.
Focal also includes a large front-mounted rectangular slot (laminar) port for added support for the two 13-inch woofer drivers. The port is designed to minimize distortion while maximizing sound pressure, descending to lower frequencies while increasing their efficiency, for more impactful sub-bass. Its heavy-duty construction is designed to deliver the highest SPL (Sound Pressure Level) when needed (without blowing out your ears).
Pro Tip: Focal states that CINEMA SUB can be integrated into wave-forming and other bass-management configurations.

The Modular Approach
One of the great things about Focal’s Utopia Cinema loudspeakers and subwoofers is that they can be installed as a modular system. They can be fixed onto or into the wall, or positioned horizontally or vertically until the desired number is installed and placed where needed.
The setup configuration is limited only by the size of the room. The Cinema LCR and Cinema SUB can also be combined with loudspeakers from the Focal 1000 In-wall/ceiling Series. Both ranges feature the same technologies, from the ‘W’ cone to the beryllium tweeter, and both deliver an immersive listening experience with the same signature sound.

With versatile setup options, Focal’s new UTOPIA CINEMA series offers a step-up solution over in-wall speakers for custom home theater installations with fewer space concerns.
