DUAL TAKES ITS PLACE IN THE SPOTLIGHT
WITH FOUR NEW MOBILE VIDEO MODELS

— New Selection Highlighted By DUAL-Monitor DVD Player —

Las Vegas, NV, CES ’05 booth #5620, January 3, 2005 — As Dual Electronics heads into its third year as a leading supplier of high performance/high value mobile and home electronics, the company today announced that it will soon ship a total of four (4) new mobile video products, including a portable DVD player with twin 7″ screens, designed to keep gamers and movie fans entertained on long road trips.

“In 2004, we rolled out such industry ‘firsts’ as the first in-dash, XM-enabled receiver to feature ‘smart’ technology inside the head unit, and we recently announced the first mobile navigation system with a 20GB internal hard drive

instead of CD’s and DVD’s,” noted Robb Groner, Dual’s Director of Product Development. “Now we’re turning our attention to mobile video, with a new model that is the first to include a second, external monitor that adds features and value without increasing the suggested retail price.”

Dual’s 2005 mobile entertainment lineup includes four new DVD players, featuring the dual-screen XDVD270 (SRP: $399) portable DVD player, with two (2) 7″ TFT LCD monitors. Designed for life on the road — in a moving vehicle, plane, the beach, etc. — this feature-packed model sports an ergonomically friendly handheld design that measures only 10.62″ (W) x 7.02″ (H) x 1.68″ (D) and weighs 2.1 lbs. This main unit, which includes 96kHz/24-bit D/A conversion and a built-in MPEG 2/1 decoder, can be used in tandem with a second, external monitor that is included at no extra cost, along with an AC adapter, DC adapter, remote control, two (2) pairs of bud earphones, A/V output cables and in-car mounting system.

Continuing the company’s commitment to offering utmost value for the investment, Dual’s selection of new head units includes the single-DIN XDVD8225 FM/AM/CD/DVD/TV receiver (SRP: $599), which, like the company’s popular model XDV8125, includes a 2.5″ TFT LCD drop-down screen, but with the added benefits of DVD and MP3 playback.

The electronic, motorized “face” drops down at the touch of a button to reveal CD and radio/TV tuner LCD display. Convenience features include last position memory that resumes playback where the listener left off, programmable turn-on volume, three (3) pairs of preamp outputs, two (2) A/V inputs, and one (1) video input.

Bumping up the size to double-DIN, the new XDVD8265 (SRP: $1,199) incorporates a 6.5″ touch-screen TFT LCD monitor with a full-function AM/FM/CD/DVD/MP3 receiver for true 16:9 widescreen video performance. The XDVD8265’s screen is motorized to jut out at the bottom, affording six different positions to ensure the perfect viewing angle while providing access to the CD/DVD slot.

The CD/DVD/MP3 section is up-to-date with the most in-demand features for digital enthusiasts, with such benefits as alphanumeric track search and 100-second ESP buffer @128kbps for skip-free MP3 performance.

Rounding out the new selection of Dual mobile video models is the company’s first dedicated overhead DVD player, XDVD1002CM (SRP: $1,199), designed for families and anybody else who enjoys big screen entertainment from the vantage point of the backseat.

With a 10.2″ TFT LCD monitor, the XDVD1002CM gives everybody a clear site line, with a special anti-glare coating for ideal viewing any time of day or night. The intuitive graphical user interface is specifically designed for the most casual users, while those with more technical know-how can dig deeper for even greater control over video performance.

The XDVD1002CM features 800 x 480 (RGB) resolution, and includes color/bright/contrast/sharpness controls for picture-perfect fine tuning.

The two pairs of wireless (IR) headphones that are included at no additional charge with the XDVD1002CM make it easy to let viewers enjoy video programming while others in the vehicle listen to music or no audio at all. The DVD player section is compatible with DVD+/-R, +/- RW, and CD-R/RW media, and features a 96kHz/24-bit D/A converter and built-in MPEG 2/1 decoder.

The overhead enclosure mounts to the roof of most vehicles, with a low profile for easy access to the DVD slot and various controls. Dimensions are 10″ (H) x 10″ (W) x 1.6″ (D).
