FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Belkin CableFree USB Hub is honored by CNET as the best in the Peripherals category

(Las Vegas, NV) — January 19, 2006 — Belkin Corporation today announced that it has received a CNET Best of CES Award in the Peripherals category for its CableFree USB Hub, the industry’s first USB Hub that does not require a cable to connect to the computer. The Best of CES Awards were produced and judged by CNET, who announced the winners Saturday, January 7, at the 2006 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

Selected by CNET’s unbiased, expert editors, winners were recognized as the hottest products in their respective technology categories for their unmatched innovation and creativity, and their ability to excite consumers and make their way into everyday life. CNET’s editors received and reviewed hundreds of entries, and combed the CES show floor for products to consider for the prestigious award.

“We are thrilled that CNET has recognized us as a winner in the Best of CES Awards,” says Mark Reynoso, Sr. VP of Sales and Marketing for Belkin. “People are always looking for wireless functionality. Our CableFree USB Hub not only gives people wireless freedom so they’re not tethered to their devices, but it also extends the capabilities of millions of USB devices. This technology is here, and we’re bringing the benefits of wireless to people now.”

The 12 categories included car tech; cell phones, smartphones, and PDAs; computers; digital photo and video; gaming; home audio; home video; MP3 and portable video; monitors, printers, burners, and storage; networking; TVs; and emerging technologies. A Best in Show winner was also named, and CNET’s online community of tech enthusiasts voted for the People’s Voice winner. Videos of the winners and finalists showcasing their technologies can be found at http://ces.cnet.com.

Beginning in early spring 2006, Belkin will offer a four-port hub and dongle set that will enable immediate high-speed wireless connectivity for any USB device without requiring software. The CableFree USB Hub gives
desktop computer users the freedom to place their USB devices–such as printers, scanners, hard drives, and MP3 players–anywhere in the room without running long cables. Laptop users gain the freedom to roam wirelessly with their laptop around the room while still maintaining access to their stationary USB devices.

“By winning a CNET Best of CES Award, Belkin sets a standard within their sector for others to follow,” says Brian Cooley, editor at large at CNET.com. “Each year at CES, CNET scours the show floor to bring extensive coverage to our passionate community of consumers, who look to our editors for the best new products at the show, and Belkin’s CableFree USB Hub is, without a doubt, one of the hottest products at CES 2006.”
