Ok, So She’s a Dog: Lexon’s $750 Balloon Dog Speaker Is Real, Bluetooth-Ready, and Somehow Not French

Lexon’s Balloon Dog speaker combines wild art with wireless Bluetooth 5.0 sound—no bones about it, this translucent, collectible pooch delivers 360° audio and up to 10 hours of playtime. Just don’t ask where the aux cord went. Woof!

Lexon Balloon Dog Speaker by Jeff Koons Lifestyle

There are thousands of loudspeakers on the market—bookshelf, floorstanding, wireless, active, passive, networked, or vintage holdouts with a single RCA input—and they all exist for the same reason: to reproduce sound you actually want to listen to. But once you get past SPL, crossover design, and cabinet materials, there’s a smaller club of brands that care just as much about how a speaker looks in your living room as how it sounds. Bang & Olufsen, Aequo Audio, Focal, Avantgarde Acoustics, Oneiros, and Waterfall Audio have all made industrial design a key part of their DNA.

That said, not every “design-forward” speaker is going to win a Red Dot Award or make sense to anyone but the marketing team. Sometimes, you come across a speaker that makes you pause—not in admiration, but in confusion. Case in point: the newly launched Balloon Dog Speaker from Lexon Design. Beauty might be in the eye of the beholder, but at $750, you better be one very forgiving beholder. Or very committed dog owner.

What Is the Lexon Balloon Dog Bluetooth Speaker?

The Balloon Dog Speaker is a collaboration between Lexon and contemporary artist Jeff Koons, known for transforming everyday objects into high-impact, often polarizing art. This limited-edition Bluetooth speaker takes direct inspiration from the classic balloon dogs twisted together at birthday parties by clowns and street performers. Equal parts audio gear and pop art statement, it’s designed to grab attention—and maybe a spot on a collector’s shelf.

Sure, It Looks Like a Balloon Animal—But Can This Dog Actually Bark Like a Bluetooth Speaker?

In addition to its eye-popping design, the Lexon Balloon Dog Speaker isn’t just some glossy showpiece—it’s a fully functional Bluetooth speaker. Lexon claims it delivers a satisfying listening experience thanks to its 360° sound design, powered by Bluetooth 5.0.

Tucked inside the shiny balloon curves are six active drivers and four passive radiators, all tuned to boost low-end performance and create a more immersive soundstage.

Lexon also promises clear vocals, deep bass, and balanced overall sound, designed to fill a room without looking like a traditional speaker. There’s a built-in microphone for hands-free calling, and up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge—whether you’re working, relaxing, or showing it off at a rooftop party where someone definitely asks, “Wait, is that a speaker?”

Functionally, it checks the right boxes for a modern wireless speaker. Whether it delivers “studio-quality” audio is up for debate—but it will absolutely start a conversation.

Touch Controls

The Balloon Dog Speaker features intuitive touch controls. Turning the nose adjusts the volume, while tapping the ears lets you skip tracks, putting your music at your fingertips with a playful dose of artistic elegance.

No Specific App Required

Pairing the Balloon Dog Speaker is simple: just connect your smartphone via Bluetooth—no app, no sign-ups, no headaches. Once paired, you can stream music, podcasts, or audiobooks directly from your device with zero friction. Whether you’re using Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, or any other streaming platform, the connection is quick and reliable. Just turn it on, pair up, and press play—no circus tricks required.

Design

The Balloon Dog Speaker is crafted from optical-grade polycarbonate, giving it a slick, glossy finish that plays with light almost as much as it plays sound. The translucent shell isn’t just for show—it adds durability to the dramatic design. According to Lexon, every contour and component is precisely engineered to strike a balance between aesthetic flair and long-term functionality. It’s meant to be both a conversation piece and a capable wireless speaker you won’t be afraid to actually use.

Double Dog It

Double the dogs for stereo listening.

For those who think one dog isn’t enough, the speaker supports True Wireless Stereo (TWS) pairing—so you can run two in stereo for a more expansive presentation. Whether you’re pumping music across the room or leveling up movie nights, doubling down means twice the audio punch—and twice the balloon dog eye candy. But let’s be real: do you really want two of these oversized art-dogs hogging your space?

Long Listening Time

The Balloon Dog speaker packs a built-in battery that keeps the tunes rolling for up to 10 hours. When it’s time to juice up, you’ll use the included 1.5-meter USB-C cable—textured for grip and sporting magnetic ends to snap on quick and hold tight. No fumbling around, just simple power-up.

Certified Authenticity

Every Balloon Dog Speaker comes engraved with Jeff Koons’ signature—a real stamp of authenticity and a direct link to the artist’s legendary work. To top it off, each one includes a certificate of authenticity, sealing its status as a legit collectible.

The Bottom Line

We at eCoustics cover a ton of speakers, and just when you think you’ve seen it all, along comes the Lexon Balloon Dog — a speaker that’s as much art statement as audio device. Sure, it looks wild, but Lexon claims it delivers a solid wireless listening experience. That said, we’re left scratching our heads over the missing specs—no power output, no frequency response, no distortion numbers. How does that balloon-shaped shell actually perform? Your guess is as good as ours.

On top of that, it’s Bluetooth-only with no physical inputs—no aux, no USB, nothing for those who still like a wired option. That’s a hard pill for some to swallow, especially at this price point.

If you think this is the only dog in the yard, think again. There’s a $5 knockoff balloon dog from Five Below, and a downright odd bulldog-shaped speaker from Max Power for $50. So, what did you do, Jeff? Turn a simple speaker into a collectible art piece, or just throw us a curveball? Either way, the Lexon Balloon Dog is a real wireless speaker that’ll either have you howling with joy or shaking your head in disbelief.
