Audio-Technica ATH-ANC3 and ATH-ANC7 QuietPoint Noise-Cancelling Headphones

541813.jpg

At CES 2009, Audio-Technica is exhibiting its QuietPoint active noise-cancelling ATH-ANC3 in-ear headphones and ATH-ANC7 over-ear headphones, two high-performance models that combine exceptional 85% noise cancellation with outstanding sound quality, comfort and portability.

Both models utilize patented technology that detects environmental noise via miniature microphones incorporated into each earpiece, and applies a corresponding sound-cancelling signal. The ATH-ANC3 and ATH-ANC7 are ideal for use on airplanes and trains, while jogging or exercising, or anywhere users want to listen to the music — and just the music.

ATH-ANC3: Outstanding Noise-Cancelling Performance in a Portable In-Ear Design

Ideal for listeners who prefer an in-ear design, the ATH-ANC3 (SRP: $169.95) is supplied with three sizes of ear tips (small, medium and large) for a customized fit. It features a compact control unit with a monitor switch that mutes all functions, to let users hear important outside announcements and conversations. The ATH-ANC3’s audio functions when its noise-cancelling function is turned off, and it can be used without batteries in passive mode.

The ATH-ANC3 is designed to deliver clear, high-resolution sound, with outstanding bass response, midrange detail and high-frequency extension. It can also be used in noise-cancelling-only mode without audio.

The ATH-ANC3 is supplied with a hard, durable carrying case, an adjustable cable and additional extension cable, an airline adapter for connection to in-flight entertainment systems, a clothing clip and an AAA battery.

ATH-ANC7: Award-Winning Sound Quality, Comfort and Convenience

Winner of numerous industry and reviewer awards, the ATH-ANC7 over-ear active noise-cancelling headphones (SRP: $219.95) deliver the exceptional audio quality that has made Audio-Technica headphones a favorite with consumers, recording engineers, artists and reviewers. The ATH-ANC7 features large-aperture 40 mm drivers with powerful neodymium magnet systems for an impactful bass, accurate midrange and extended treble.

Like the ATH-ANC3, the ATH-ANC7 also works when the noise-cancelling function is turned off, and operates in passive mode without batteries. The headphones fold flat for storage and come with a detachable cable (with a standard 3.5 mm mini-plug; the cable can be removed for noise-cancelling functionality without audio), a full-size ¼-inch adapter, an airline adapter and a hard carrying case.
