Aperion Audio Unveils Dipole/Bipole Speaker

Provides the Option To Match Surround Sound Format According To Preference

Aperion Audio, the first company to provide a totally risk-free buying experience, today announced the 522D-SS Dipole/Bipole surround speakers that incorporate traditional direct radiating and reflective surround sound into one speaker. Designed with the ability to shift between two surround sound formats with the flick of a switch, the 522D-SS Dipole/Bipole surround speakers provides customers the option to change speaker format to match listening preferences.

“We don’t think anyone should have to pay $700 or more for a direct radiating and reflective surround sound speaker solution,” said Win Jeanfreau, founder and CEO of Aperion Audio. “The Aperion 522D-SS Dipole/Bipole surround speaker is the ‘Swiss Army Knife’ of speakers at a sub-$500 price point.”

Features of the 522D-SS Dipole/Bipole Surround Speakers

Switchable Dipole/Bipole Design
In dipole mode the woofers are wired out of phase with each other, resulting in a diffused sound field perfect for surround effects in movies. Switch the system to bipole mode and all the drivers are in-phase, creating the precise placement of sound that only a direct radiating speaker can offer.

1″ Audiophile-Grade Silk-Dome Tweeter
Silk is the ultimate diaphragm material that gives the remarkable detail to sound smooth and natural. The audiophile-grade 1-inch tweeter features Ferro fluid cooling for high power handling, a high quality heat sink, which delivers less distortion, magnetic shielding, and a linear response faceplate for improved horizontal dispertion.

Custom PVA- Damped 5.25″ Midrange
Our custom 5.25-inch midrange-woofer is the heart and soul of the 522D-SS Dipole/Bipole surround speaker. The cone is made of paper that’s been treated with Poly Vinyl Acetate (PVA). Paper gives a fast and natural response, while the PVA helps make it more rigid and longer lasting. The driver is built from a solid polymer frame, heavy rubber surround, and a flat frequency response.

Anti-Resonant Chambered Cabinet
Each 522D-SS Dipole/Bipole surround speaker is made of a solid 1-inch thick High Density Fiberboard (HDF) to eliminate unwanted resonances within the cabinet. Each speaker array is enclosed in its own sealed chamber offering true sound reproduction without interference. The furniture-grade finish available in real cherry wood or high gloss black lacquer unites the acoustic-damping qualities typically found in loudspeakers that cost hundreds of dollars more than Aperion.

DiAural Crossover Technology
The DiAural crossover technology creates a speaker that is able to reproduce its entire frequency response range without unwanted distortion and artifacts while providing a phase coherent sound that is open and uncolored. The DiAural circuit in the 522D-SS Dipole/Bipole surround speaker creates a sound that is open and natural.

5-Way Gold-Plated Binding Posts
Each 522D-SS Dipole/Bipole surround speaker comes standard with audiophile quality gold-plated five-way binding posts that provide greater flexibility in connecting speaker wires. The binding posts can accommodate banana plugs (4mm), spades (3/8″), pins or bare wire.

Wall & Ceiling Mounting
The 522D-SS Dipole/Bipole surround speaker offer two mounting options, either integrated keyhole mounts that support flush invisible mounting on walls or dual ¼” threaded inserts on the back for ceiling or wall mounting. The industry standard spacing on the inserts ensures compatibility with mounts by OmniMount, B-Tech, or other brands.
