New Sales Promotion Touts Multi-channel Sound Systems

TORRANCE, Calif., September 2005 — Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. announced the “Go Beyond Stereo” sales promotion, which focuses on raising consumer awareness of multi-channel music and encouraging consumers to upgrade from their CD-based original equipment manufacturer (OEM) systems to multi-channel systems. The effort includes a suggested multi-channel system for consumers that retails for less than $2,000. The new promotion will launch at authorized Alpine dealers in the U.S. on Oct. 1 and run through Dec. 31.

“The future of automotive sound is multi-channel. This promotion helps dealers tell the story and gets consumers to realize how much better the in-vehicle sound experience can be,” said Stephen Witt, vice president, Brand Marketing, Alpine Electronics.

For dealers, there will be a support kit that includes a dangler for in-store use. Additionally, the kit will include digital artwork files to create customized ads, postcards and flyers to support the promotion. The support kit also will have Alpine’s multi-channel reference DVD disc, which contains songs and sound demos for in-store demonstrations that will help consumers understand the multi-channel concept.

Other supporting tactics include a “Go Beyond Stereo” section on the www.alpine-usa.com site, with exposure on the home page and separate product benefit page, which will go live on Oct. 3. The “In Tune With Alpine” e-mail newsletter will be sent to the Alpine consumer e-mail database on Oct. 3 as well.

The featured “Go Beyond Stereo” system will help consumers create theater-quality, multi-channel sound in their cars at an attractive price point. The high-performing components create a richly detailed and completely enveloping personalized surround sound atmosphere at a suggested retail index of $1,980 (installation costs are separate).

The featured “Go Beyond Stereo” 5.1 multi-channel system includes:
– DVA-9860: In-dash DVD/CD/MP3/WMA/AM-FM head unit with integrated Dolby Digital and DTS output
– MRA-F350: 5-channel digital theater amplifier
– MRP-M350: Mono amplifier
– SBS-05DC: 1 DIN, in-dash center-channel speaker
– SPR-17LS: 6.5-inch component 2-way speaker
– SPR-17LP: 6.5-inch coaxial 2-way speaker
– SWR-1042D: 10-inch dual 4-ohm subwoofer
