Alienware Systems Now Available with NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX Graphics Cards; GeForce 7800 GTX Equips Alienware Desktops with Both Rapid Frame Rates and Exceptional Image Quality

MIAMI, June 23, 2005 — Alienware, the leading manufacturer of high-performance desktop, notebook, media center, and professional systems, announced that NVIDIA GeForce™ 7800 GTX graphics cards are now available on numerous Alienware desktop systems. Powered by up to two, the GeForce 7800 GTX through NVIDIA SLI™ technology, Alienware systems deliver lightning-fast frame rates and optimal image quality for the latest graphics-intensive games and visual applications.

Alienware systems with the GeForce 7800 GTX feature a brand new programmable shader architecture, with more than twice the shading horsepower of the previous generation and speeds up filtering and blending operations. The GeForce 7800 GTX also includes new image quality features such as transparency supersampling and multisample antialiasing, which enhances visual quality by removing jagged edges from 3D images, minimizing aliasing, and high dynamic range (HDR) lighting support for delivering next-generation lighting and shadowing effects.

Performance is further elevated in Alienware systems featuring the GeForce 7800 GTX through NVIDIA SLI™ technology. SLI allows two GeForce 7800 GTX graphics cards to be combined in order to increase performance by as much as 100%. In addition to graphics, the GeForce 7800 GTX provides dramatic improvements to video performance by giving users the opportunity to enjoy crystal-clear picture quality while watching TV, DVDs, and high-definition video.

“Alienware made the GeForce 7800 GTX available with a wide selection of our award-winning systems so that customers everywhere can experience games, videos, and other visual applications like never before,” said Patrick Cooper, director of product management for Alienware. “The GeForce 7800 GTX is the new benchmark for graphics excellence.”

“NVIDIA redesigned the GeForce 7800 GTX to optimize the architecture for modern programming techniques and image quality features such as HDR lighting and advanced antialiasing techniques,” said Jeff Fisher, executive vice president of worldwide sales for NVIDIA. “GeForce 7800 GTX gives Alienware customers an incredibly powerful new option for flying through the latest games with unsurpassed image quality.”
