Acer Expands Its Professional LCD Monitor Offerings With the New Business and Value Series Displays

Acer, the third largest vendor in the global PC market (source: Gartner data, 4Q 2007), today expanded its professional display offerings with the introduction of two new LCD display families – Business series and Value series.

Acer Business Series (B-series)
Designed and developed for intensive daily use, the Acer B-series ensures a highly reliable and easy-to-read display for professionals who appreciate superior ergonomics, solidity and long-term productivity.

The B-series is available in six sizes from 17- to 24-inches, including the B173 and B193, 17- and 19-inch typical 4:3 displays, and four widescreen 16:10 versions – the 19-inch B193W, 20-inch B203W, 22-inch B223W and 24-inch B243W. Appointed with a stylish and elegant black bezel and base, the B-series displays offer the performance and comfort suitable for any professional setting.

The widescreen Business models feature Acer’s innovative FlxArm technology that allows easy height, tilt, swivel and rotation adjustments of the display. Adaptable to the best viewing position, the display can be adjusted 15 degrees up or 5 degrees down, and can be swivelled 35 degrees to the right and the left.

The Acer B-series displays are equipped with a dual input interface: VGA for analogue and DVI for digital signals with HDCP support(1). These performance-packed professional displays also feature a real power off button for energy saving. The placement of cables at the rear of the monitor eases cable management and maintains the clean-lined aesthetic of the overall design.

The new B-series features 5 ms response time on all displays and contrast ratio that ranges from 2000:1 to 3000:1, dynamically adjusted by Acer’s Adaptive Contrast Management technology.

Acer Value series (V-series)
The new Acer Value series is the ideal choice for users looking for an up-to-date display with an excellent price per inch and uncompromised performance packed within a simple, elegant design. Blending into any work or play environment, the V-series displays are designed for word processing and graphics rendering. Acer V-series monitors meet the highest safety and reliability standards for the most comfortable and productive viewing.

The Value series offers broad range of display formats ranging from 17- and 19-inch 4:3 formats, and 19-, 22-, and 24-inch widescreen 16:10 versions. The V-series can be easily packed and taken anywhere, simply by pressing a button at the bottom of the monitor to detach the base from the stand.

The new V-series displays capture and reproduce natural and realistic colors, rich text and top quality digital imaging thanks to generous contrast ratios from 2000:1 up to 3000:1, rapid response rates of 5ms and brightness levels of up to 400 cd/m2.

Acer display technologies
All Business and Value series models feature Acer eColor Management, a technology which adapts the performance of the panel to different environments, lighting conditions and viewing preferences. Acer eColor Management optimizes the image for an enhanced front-of-screen performance, with a range of user-selected scenarios: standard mode (normal settings for medium-level display performance), text mode (suited for on-screen viewing of documents, spreadsheets, etc.), graphics mode (delivers optimal quality for colorful static images) and user modes (allows users to fine-tune basic settings and personalize the viewing experience).

The B-series and V-series LCD line-up features Acer’s Adaptive Contrast Management (ACM) system, a technology that dynamically adjusts the contrast ratio of the input image to achieve an ultra-sharp, on-screen image. Every scene is analyzed by adjusting images frame-by-frame to enhance color quality, achieving the whitest whites and the deepest blacks. In addition, Acer Adaptive Contrast Management technology allows the Acer Business line display to use less power in work mode thus saving energy and reducing the overall life cycle cost of the display.

Both Business and Value series LCDs also include Acer eDisplay management, an intuitive, user-friendly tool that helps users take full advantage of the vast features of Acer displays, simplifying basic adjustments such as resolution, brightness, contrast, focus and position, enabling advanced color calibration, so that colors are displayed more professionally, and effortless adjustment of the monitor position.

The Business and Value series displays, along with all Acer LCDs, are Energy Star certified and compliant with the most-up-to date Microsoft Vista operating systems.
