Wireless loudspeakers took a huge step forward in performance in 2022 and it is easy to understand why mainstream consumers and seasoned audiophiles are taking the plunge. How people consume music has changed and reflects shifting priorities when it comes to home audio/video systems. People want fewer components, easier connectivity, and the ability to create 2.0 or 2.1 systems that can enhance their listening and movie watching experience.

Ian White, eCoustics Editor in-Chief, explains why wireless loudspeakers are going to replace traditional passive systems in the next 5 years and selects some of his favorite high-end wireless loudspeakers of 2022. The next golden age of Hi-Fi is already here.

      Hi Ian,

I enjoy your work, especially your joint conversations with Tarun at ABA.

As for the Dynaudio, I’m not sure an $11K speaker for a powered speaker represents good value for money. I think you could make that case easily for any of the KEF speakers, even if you needed a sub to round out the system.

You might be correct that model 30 or even model 10, might represent better value for money.
