Savant Shifts to Virtual CEDIA Programming as Delta Variant Surges

Savant is the first company to drop out of exhibiting at CEDIA 2021. Will more follow?

Savant Audio Home Automation

We’re getting a bad feeling about this. With CEDIA 2021 rapidly approaching, one of the biggest players in the CI sector has announced that it will not be attending the show and only participating through virtual programs for dealers and custom integrators. Savant is a huge player and this announcement might reverberate throughout the industry.

With more than 3 weeks to go, nobody really knows how this is going to play out in Indiana and whether this is the start of a trend in regard to trade shows. With the 2021 New York Auto Show cancelled already, this only exacerbates the issues facing consumer A/V show organizers and let’s all cross our fingers for CEDIA 2021, AXPONA, RMAF, and CanJam SoCal 2021.

CanJam SoCal 2021, as we reported, is happening in Irvine at the end of September and we’ve heard nothing yet to suggest that Jude Mansilla and Ethan Opolion are going to scale back the show or cancel it.

With over 100 companies within the headphone space already committed to the show, it would be a major setback for the pandemic to derail it at this late juncture.

We’re going to update this story with any additional information as we get it.
