McIntosh Announces TradeUP Program, But There’s a Catch

If you have a qualifying McIntosh product, you can get a trade-up allowance between May 1st and June 30, 2023.

McIntosh TradeUP Program

McIntosh does not offer something like this very often so it felt somewhat important to make readers aware of this new program that is aimed at their rather extensive customer base. Has the time come for an upgrade but the prices of the newest components seem out of reach? Before you get too excited — there are some details you need to know.

Tip: Check out our McIntosh Factory Tour!

McIntosh products seem to last forever, but sometimes owners would like to switch out their amp, receiver, or another component with updated features, but one barrier is that McIntosh components are very expensive, even for those that have large disposal incomes.

However, for current owners, McIntosh has just announced a deal that may be hard to pass up, the TradeUP program.

What The TradeUP Program Is

From May 1st to June 30th, 2023, owners of select McIntosh power amps, integrated amps, preamps, and receivers can take advantage of the TradeUP program.

You can trade in a qualified McIntosh component for up to 75% of its original MSRP to use towards the purchase of a qualified new monoblock or stereo amplifier, preamplifier, integrated amplifier, or receiver. Monoblock amplifiers must be traded in and purchased in pairs.

Only product models on the qualified trade-in list are eligible for the TradeUP program.

Using the TradeUP program

Before you start boxing up your qualifying McIntosh Component, here are the details you need to know:

  • All trades must be done through a participating dealer. Trade-in units must be in reasonable physical condition, in working order, and not have been modified or altered from their original design.
  • The trade-in and TradeUP units must be of like product types.
  • An amplifier can be traded in for another amplifier.
  • A preamplifier can be traded for preamplifiers, integrated amplifiers for integrated amplifiers, and receivers for receivers, with the following exceptions:
  • An integrated amplifier may be traded in for a new integrated amplifier or receiver, or for a component set that includes both a preamplifier and a power amplifier.
  • A receiver may be traded in for a new receiver or integrated amplifier, or for a component set that includes both a preamplifier and a power amplifier.
  • A component set that includes both a preamplifier and a power amplifier may be traded in for a new component set that includes both a preamplifier and a power amplifier, or for an integrated amplifier or for a receiver.
  • The MSRP of the new TradeUP unit must be equal to or greater than the sum of both the trade-in unit’s original MSRP and its trade-in value. Customer is responsible for the difference between the MSRP of the new TradeUP unit and the value of the trade in unit.
